CD’s is a beautiful and huge store with lots of inventory to look at (although most furniture has a 4 to 6 MONTH lead time) and they provide every service you need to put together a home. They provide complete design services and do kitchens and baths and patios. What makes it an unpleasant shopping experience is the being followed around by a staff member as if you’re going to steal something. It really feels like stalking.If you ask this person a question, they act annoyed and answer in a condescending way. No matter what I said or asked, the answer was “well, what do you expect……”. The other issue is the very over inflated prices.

Worst possible place of business available in the furniture world. Besides the racist comments and inappropriate conversations had amongst the staff, they refused to give me a reconciliation on my account. The person who supposedly runs these things Kimberly Moore? Never returns any phone calls or emails. Please don’t shop here! Beware of these crazy people. The owner must be oblivious to have such disrespectful people running the store…. If that’s what you want to call it.

Hired them, Marla Jaffe and Inaam Johnson, to design the lobby portion of a commercial project, an animal hospital facility when convinced me they could do a good and an appropriate job even though this was not a multi-million dollar home. After my 2nd conceptual meeting (we had spent maybe 3 hours between two meetings), I was shown a reception desk photo that had none of the elements I had told them I needed, and a logo sign concept aesthetic. Both concepts I turned down in the same meeting when the concept was shared with me. It didn’t work for our space size nor our budget and inappropriate for the kind of biz that it was. After that second meeting, I told them I did not think we were a good fit and advised mgmt that I would not begin the project with them, plus, my entire building ended up being terminated, long before it ever began. However, Clive Daniel’s has refused to refund even a dime of the nearly $30,000 upfront fee I had paid them. I finally had to dispute their credit card charge, three times, when they failed to issue a refund and they fought my dispute each time. Then six weeks after terminating the relationship via phone call to the manager explaining in detail my bad experience and my wish to terminate, and I advised again via email directly to the two designers, making it clear I did not feel that after the two small elements of the project they had proposed, cost factor, nor the relationship as a whole, would work, based on the rude, condescending attitude I got when I turned down their initial concept proposal (especially the $40k logo signs they suggested and the $150k+ small reception desk) after stopping before we ever began, six weeks had passed, the designer Marla Jaffe sent me by email a whole set of architectural drawings for the logo signs (which I had turned down instantly), and Clive Daniels claimed to the credit card co that monies are non-refundable because they had already delivered design work that I could steal! They had done zero other than the two ‘concept meetings’ at which time I told them the concepts I was shown photos of, didn’t work for me, and was clear that I did not feel we were a good fit and I didn’t wish to proceed! Those drawings for one tiny aspect of a whole project were sent to me six weeks after I ended the relationship, in my opinion, just so they could claim they had justification for keeping $30,000! Such a shady, tacky and unprofessional attempt to steal money, by a company who surely does not appear by the look of their media and store, to operate this way! I was, and remain shocked, at the lengths that a company such as this, which appears so high caliber, will allow it’s staff designers to go to, just to steal up-front money once it’s paid in good anticipatory faith! Gotcha! That is their style! No matter what the dollar amount they stole, it speaks volumes for their lack of integrity! These people literally robbed me of these hard earned funds and did absolutely nothing for it! Legal case which will cost me at least as much, will proceed, just on principle! I shudder to imagine the damage they would do if I had gone to them to design a multi-million dollar home and gave them upfront money! Then, still giving the benefit of doubt, I wrote detailed explanation to corp office, of my experience, which was sent because I thought, perhaps, mgmt may not have understood what and how this went down. Yet, NO reply, at all! So clearly I now believe, Managment / Owners support such theft of funds…this is the way they do business, their mentality is… at all cost of integrity, keep the money! I hope you stay far away from this company, they are not what or who they appear once they have your money in their tight grasp, and deliver absolutely nothing!!

Stop and check it out, talk to a few different sales people/designers then pick one and make appt. Some of them may be rather annoying.
