The truth is that I never understood the "PRO-BONO aid" for people with limited resources!!! It is good that they schedule an appointment for you by phone with a lawyer of that category and that the cost of being able to access them in the first instance is low. You have half an hour to outline your case, but later, if you decide to take a case with them, the costs range between 3,500 and 5,000 dollars and many warn you that if you have to go to court or have hearings, you have an additional cost per hour, which would be more or less 350 depending on the lawyer! For me it is ridiculous that they have that connotation of "help" because it is very, very far from reality. There is also the bar association with the same purpose and unfortunately they have the same concept!!! It is too frustrating and exhausting, wanting to start a process of any kind with these graduates, because from the beginning you have to pay only for the consultation and through a call, later if they take your case, they leave you with the thousands of dollars that obviously and for common sense, we do not have those who are called low income and / or low income!!! Really VERY DISAPPOINTED and for the record this is if not the first, maybe the second time I've made a negative comment, based on my own experience!

I don't understand what kind of criteria they use to "help people". I am a US citizen, I have 3 daughters, I earn less than 1700 a month, I live with my 3 daughters, less than 16,000 on my taxes last year and I have been rejected by Legal Aid. It's already 3 times. In this country as in any other, if you don't have money to pay for a lawyer, don't dream that you are in a first world country and that you are going to receive justice and help.

You need to file a visitation order with the court, you can obtain legal assistance from legal aide. I think its the 12th floor.
The first thing that your lawyer or yourself needs is a DNA, to know if you are the biological father, then you have the opportunity to resolve this matter.
