If you play pinball as a hobby avoid this place. Every single pin has around 1-3 issues ranging from broken lights, weak flippers, broken switches, and more. Myself and many regulars consitently update the staff about these game issues yet day after day, week after week, and month after month the issues get ignored or poorly fixed like slapping a soggy bandaid on severed leg. I've been a regular here for nearly 3 years I've skipped class to get here during opening, stupidly spent too much money playing pinball, have my initials on multiple games (ARZ or ARZ SUCKSS), and even won some tournaments here. Some could even joke that I live here. I discovered my love for pinball here and met many people that I consider close or even best friends. It's 100% accurate to say that this arcade changed my life for the better. I'm friends with all the staff and even one of the owners. Unfortunately, after many attempts to try and offer help and insight into the issues the games have, I was met with hostility and disrespect from the tech. I was told I didn't know what I was talking about, that I am wrong about the plethora of game issues, and that the game issues do exist, they dont deserve to be fixed because they dont matter. This is despite me working at another seattle arcade as a tech apprentice and being hired by the arcade owner to do tech work on his own games. I must emphasize, I LOVE this place and I want it to stay open as long as possible as for it to bring joy to hundreds of people for the months and years to come. However, I can't in good conscience recommend anyone come here for a good arcade experience with the lack of care and respect that is shown towards the games. Until the games here start being taken care of properly, I definitely won't be dropping anymore quarters or spending 6-12 hours here. Edit regarding the owner's response: While there was a period of time where I was training in an arcade in South Seattle, not much came of it due to a variety of factors and it hasn't been a thing for months and months. I have been trying to fix games and help The Castle since before that training thing even started. This review is in no way a conflict of interest. As for a false nature of this review, I have receipts and know of other people of who experienced similar things. As for the pettiness of my review, this review didnt come from a place of pettiness, anger, or resentment. It came from a place a sadness. To see literally my favorite place in the entire world slowly but surely descend into lower and lower care hurt me deeply. I tried every avenue to help time and time again was turned away time and time again. I seeked out various opportunities around me to learn how to fix games just so I could one day fix games here but the moment never arrived. This review is a cry. A cry for help. A cry for help for the games that could be playing so well and helping this great place thrive but stay malnourished and poor. I don't know what I expected with this review. But straight up denouncing the words a person who spent 3 years almost exclusively being at this arcade and cares for it so much as lies and petty really goes to show how they will treat you if any issues arises. Pros: - very good staff (except the tech) - good beer selection and prices - great regulars - karaoke night (wednesday) - all ages Cons: - The arcade part of this arcade

Fantastic arcade, love the games here :) Real good mix of new and old and quite a bit of pinball if that's your track. I'll be back soon!

A little pricey, but a great selection of games, consoles and accessories. Also a cool arcade, but I wish they could squeeze in a few more games.

It's an arcade with a side of alcohol sales, not a bar. Go in expecting that. Weirdness with the DDR machine. Still a great time.

Sorry, no claw machines
Hi Ashley, yes we do sell HDMI cables.
Hi Nathan, You cannot bring in outside drinks or snacks (absolutely NO DRINKS, that is state law) but if you have hot food like pizza, teriyaki, a burrito, etc; you are welcome to bring that in to eat.
Sorry, no redemption games. Though we are ALL AGES w/ a service area for bottled beer. We have a variety of arcade and pinball games from the 70s to modern day!
No one is allowed inside after they are closed. I don't think they have an age requirement at any point when they're open though
Game Machines take $0.25 cent quarters. Bring your own or they have a change machine there for your cash. I think for $1 & $5 bills.
Only part of the games are available in the morning/early afternoon. The remainder of the barcade opens later in the afternoon. They're pretty okay with kids at any time, as long as you're vigilant with them.
They always have every time I've visited. (Marysville, Edmonds, Lynnwood)
Especially good during the day time, occasional stoners but no ruffians about.
Depends on what you plan to do. Buying games? Bring a couple hundred. Playing arcade games? $10 is fine.
Half of the place is buy sell retro video games. The other half is beer and pinball
If you like playing the demo and title screen, free games EVERY DAY!
