I own Sew Kreativ, a mobile retail and alterations shop. I provide sewing classes and sale merchandise at events, homes and centers. I was invited to do a class with the residents of The Chateau and it was an awesome experience. While making blankets, I was able to listen and learn from their life experiences and share a few laughs. It was such a joy to be around the ladies that attended the class. The Cheateau is inviting and the staff very courteous. If you have a loved one that is looking for a friendly, warm and community-driven home, then look no further then theCheateau.

The Chateau was a wonderful experience for the first 1.5 years that my MIL was there. It changed ownership twice and stopped having a nurse on sight...which we did not know until March 8 of 2021. This is not independent living...it is assisted living. They are supposed to increase care planning needs ..With the family involved on a periodic basis. That NEVER happened during covid. She should have been on Level III or IIII when we saw her. Residents may require higher levels of care and are to get that there! During covid, the residents were stuck in their rooms...creative solutions to avoiding isolation, loneliness, and increases in dementia went by the wayside...we were certainly unaware of any methods to keep their minds busy and their legs moving. Dave made sure she had all of the supplies she needed. We would go stand under moms balcony and speak to her on the phone (so we could see each other) and she called twice weekly..until she stopped!! My MIL went from a social and active resident to a woman with what appeared to be dementia and an inability to sit up and eat. Her care assistant had no idea she was supposed to be wearing hearing aids or that she was an active, bright woman 1 year earlier, she seemed unaware that mom could not open wayer bottles or drink from the to go cup they gave her. She couldn’t get the top off of her salad without help. Mom had a lovely one bedroom apartment there....her bedroom looked like a bomb had gone off! So dirty and messy on March 5th, 2021. I took video. She died 5 1/2 days after we insisted on seeing her..my husband rushed her to Sutter ER on March 8th in the morning. We had spent the weekend looking at alternative assisted living facilities for her. It was tragic and heartbreaking. The owner knows this and is surprised woth my one star review?

I've been here for a year and a half and have The Chateau very welcoming, to have a friendly atmosphere with a wide range of interests. Having had to recently change from an independent resident to assisted, I am very pleased with the care. Some of the med techs have been outstanding. I love that there is always a wide range of activities from the activities department. Everyone in the building is always happy to assist, regardless of their department, and that means the world to me.

A lot of turnover in the staff and they raised my mom’s rent during the pandemic!!! Some staff are nice but others were extremely rude! Food was terrible and the parking was bad. I would not recommend this assisted living hone! Overall, customer service gets an F and we were very dissatisfied!!

Questions & Answers

Ughh! Happened to park across street recently: Why is what appears to be only ground level outdoor space for residents looking so bare and ugly? I didn't check it out in detail but from distance looks like bare dirt and naked playground equipment?

Your best bet would be to go visit the facility and take the tour. A lot of times you get a free lunch in the food there is pretty good
