Hooked 6s and 9s are much less legible for Seniors, so why use such a unfriendly hostile format!? For years, decades, KQED has had one old lady answering the phone in "Audience Services". So with all this money from us spent on a renovated building in sf on Mariposa, I thought I would call to see if anything internally had changed. I phoned and got an answering machine. Left a message. No reply. Why still use the four 54 channels to duplicate the original ch9 and four 9 channels? Less major, why still use hooked 6s and 9s? We're adults so show us adults you are not profligate with it, your general costs and fair but not lavish salaries? You started with begging and now add commercial business interests and paid club memberships! Is this more "public" or just more corporate?

I went to KQED with my intention to simply submit my annual donation (I thought, just avoid the stamp)...little did I understand that COVID had emptied essentially every employee in the building. I started with the parking entry (working people apparent) and he told me to go to the front entry. I did that and after repeated attempts to enter, a guard came to the closed door and referred me to the shipping/receiving gate ( I saw when I arrived). But nobody was visible (but I heard half of the conversation from the locked gate)...I was about to give up on the tithe, but at the last minute, the employee came to the locked gate and finally accepted my envelope (check and all, no stamp). The moral (to me) is realize that a stamp is easier than a torment (in these burdened times.) If I'm still on the planet, I will take the easier way next year!

The remodel is amazing. The architecture uses many natural materials combined with a clean, modern, asthetic.

Call KQED's one woman "customer/ audience service" DIRECT, assuming you use cable ,not free and better signal from Sutro Tower in Frisco.
You shoukd be able to find it on the pbs video app eventually
