I visited Hollister DMV today for my behind the wheel test. I was attended warmly by Bernice from beginning till end. She was very professional, friendly and gave instructions on point. I was so nervous because it was my 3rd attempt but she made me feel comfortable in every possible way. I wish people can be nice like her everywhere who make lives better. Not because she passed me but even in giving critic points it was very constructive and not rude/defensive! Thank you Bernice for being so kind.

Had a 9:00 a.m. appointment for a new real ID and two vehicle renewals. Completely finished and out the door by 9:10. Super efficient!

When this has happened too me, it was either because my vehicle needed a smog as well and they were waiting for that to send the tags or my address was wrong with dmv
Thats right. there are no stipulated requirements for driving hours before you go for test.
You do not get registered. If you spend over $x amount of dollars to try and get it fixed and still fail. you'll get an exemption. If you recently replaced your battery the sensors may not have adjusted yet it take 50-100 mi. Of highway driving and 30-50 mi. Of city driving to reset the computer and make it pass. Also you can't pass with a check engine light on for smog. Hope this helps

They're talking appointments but only appointments that were reschedule from when they had to shut down.and they're not taking new ones and if you can complete your business online then he should do that because he'll tell you to do it if you're standing in line

Nope, if you go online you might be able to search up ones selected locations that are open Saturdays but it may be a bit of a travel
As far as I know of they haven't changed it. It's by appointment only
