My family and I have visited here for years and throughout all seasons. The end of August-September seems to be the best luck (we've had) with seeing all of the amazing wildlife and nature without the thickest crowds. They've got these absolutely stunning white/pink birds that nest near the driving path in and they are just utterly gorgeous. There's a walking path in from the road that you can walk, and take great pictures, and use the binocular stations. There's ample parking, a cute gift shop, plenty of areas for kids to play, and public restrooms.

Great place, beautiful well maintained. Camping spots are nice, the majority are roomy, there is a few in the south campground that are a little tight but overall nice place to visit/camp. Has a general store on site. Plenty of wildlife to see lots of gators! The fishing is decent early mornings and late evenings between the crowds on the beach. Look forward to staying again.

Awesome beach - may help to improve efficiency of getting folks in the gate so traffic does not back up to road

Yes, if you fish the surf you have to have a southcarolina salt water fishing license. Fishing is not allowed in the marsh and brackish water and fresh water ponds in the park.
