I was travelling to San Francisco because of a death in my spouses family. This was during Covid when a covid test was needed to get back to Canada where I live. I was shopping around for a covid test expecting the test to be from anywhere from 0 to 100 dollars as I have travelled in and out of the USA several times at this point. Usually for a rapid test I paid about seventy five dollars. When I went into Dignity Health I asked how much, explaining I was Canadian and that I was going back to Canada. I gave them my passport to check me in. They told me it was free. Nearly a year later I get a bill for 300 dollars. . The worst part of this is that when I called to inquire what could be done since I was given false information, and information that would have meant I would have went elsewhere for a covid test, the employee on the phone put the blame on me. Apparently this cost is well known and I should have researched before having the test. I suppose that means that you should not trust any of what those who work here say. And honestly what might have happened if I were staying at a hotel and never received the bill? I am utterly speechless from this experience and it has shown me this company only cares about lining its pockets, not about people or patients. Do yourself a favour and look for another place to get your medical needs

My doctor was fantastic, but all other aspects of this location were horrid. Constant insurance mix ups, no matter how many times I showed them my insurance. Unprofessional to deal with. They're copay machine is down, so when I asked when I could expect the bill I was just met with a smirk and "a while!" and they laughed. I don't recommend dignity health if you can avoid it. Just a follow up that they never actually helped, reached out further, or even apologized after they asked me to reach out.

You can rarely get through to this office on the phone

Called to make an appointment because all I want to do is sleep. Like I wake up 2 hours after I wake up I am ready for bed. I sleepfor another 6-8 hours. It's just a constant thing they told me they couldn't make me an appointment because I haven't been seen at that office in more than 3 years. Well I don't go to the Dr lady.i It's been 4-5 years since my last Dr visit. So I am annoyed with dignity I thought human kindness was all about your motto!!! I guess not!

It’s never acceptable when you try to call over to the mission street dignity you could be online for an hour and I’ll come up with the same thing they’re having a meeting all together to talk about the day so yes it is very unacceptable
You would have to make a appointment with a doctor but it doesn't necessarily have to be Dr. Winkler. You can probably call your primary doctor who can probably call in a prescription for you at Walgreens.
You have to sign up for the portal on the dignity health page. In order to sign up you will need your MRN(medical records number), in which you will have to call the office to get. When you obtain the number follow the prompts and then you should have an aaccount. I hope that information helps.
