Best dog park in the East Bay. Nice views of the Bay and LOTS of space. My only complaint is there are often slightly (or not so slightly) aggressive dogs there with owners who seem not to care or who are oblivious. If your dog struggles with that or has reactive aggression, this maybe not be the right dog park for you.

I love this dog park! It's big enough for the dogs to run around and play fetch. It's even big enough for the humans that like to congregate and chat, Even those that tend to congregate too close to the entrance thus making incoming dogs very anxious... You know who you are!

The large dog area is huge! There is so much space that it's easy to have multiple groups of pups doing doing own thing. Today there was even a birthday party for a corgi with at least 20 doggy guests and they only took up less than 1/5 of the total area. It really helps reduce stress for the dogs that they can spread out and interact as they so choose. There is also a water fountain available, small dog area, and the sand provides great drainage. It had rained pretty hard this morning but there wasn't even any mud puddles.

Be aware of individuals large dogs spend the day. These dogs become alpha males and will confront any newcomers. There was a very large white dog that attacked my dog. Dogs will be dogs, however quick response by owners with large dogs should be present and it wasn't at that time. My dog was confused why is joyous playing was interrupted by an attack. Be aware of those who have been hanging out at the park all day. Danger!

Think of mulch at a dog park and the dogs do their business? Challenging to clean. The area is so big. Some dog parks have artificial turf or grass in a specific area easy to pick up. Alameda's dog park is huge. Wear a mask 😁 let fido run and run 🐕
Your dog will probably be more interested playing with other dogs than jumping fences. There were big dogs at the parks and no dogs ever attempted escape.
I usually go at 7 in the morning. Not so crowded and less packs of frenetic dogs.
