I was kicked out and sectioned because of hearsay that wasn't true. Couldn't even state my side and am banned permanently. Thanks for the dispassion, manager (dictator) Maureen Medeiros and the "Samaritan" House.

The staff is terrible! They treat people like trash. Zero compassion at this shelter. Avoid if possible!!

Not LGBT friendly. Social worker here is a disgusting troll. Special social worker they picked for me was just as bad. She literally criticized everything about the way I look while she herself looks like Quasimodo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. For the month and a half I stayed here only one employee treated me with respecet. The house manager here actually told me I have a victim complex after I complained about being sexually assaulted. True story! I was grouped by a male housemate and they did not care. That same person tells them I made a comment about committing suicide and they jumped at the opportunity to get me out of there. Really! But I digress They obviously play favourites with certain house guests, some staying there well beyond the 90 day mark. While others they nitpick everything in hopes they leave or they just boot them to the streets. For a dry shelter half the guests were drinking or doing drugs during the day. Gossip and animosity amongst guests is another thing. It's best to just stay to yourself and not get involved. Living conditions were also poor. Bedbugs and roaches were common. A serious respiratory virus went around during my stay, requiring a few guests to seek medical aid. The only positive about this place was the food. Not the meals they prepared for dinner, no, that consisted of half cooked rice and spoiled meat that was in a freezer for over a year then left out on the counter to thaw for a few days. They receive a ton of donations from local grocery stores and bakeries. In all this place is disgraceful. I would never recommend it. Not even to my worst enemies. I came here when I had no where else to go. Now I rather live on the streets. In all, the way I was treated here made me lose faith in the system. One star is being to generous. This place should burned to the ground.
