Crowders was a great beginners trail we had all ages with us the youngest was my son an 8 year old and the oldest we’re my in laws in their 60’s take water, light snacks like peanuts or jerkie and a first aid kit!!! We went in August and although the trees provide so much beautiful shade it was warm, it’s a great trail steep and coming down gets tricky because your tired but now you have to control yourself to not just tumble down! Before you reach the top it becomes a jagged steep almost 90 climb to the most breathe taken views so it’s with it! Great work out!

Crowders Mountain is one of two main peaks within Crowders Mountain State Park, the other peak being The Pinnacle. The park is located in the western Piedmont of North Carolina, between the cities of Kings Mountain and Gastonia, or approximately 25 miles (40 km) west of Charlotte. Crowders Mountain rises steeply nearly 800 feet (240 m) above the surrounding terrain and has an elevation of 1,625 feet (495 m) above sea level.

Only if the app sack is 100% made by exploited orphans in El Salvador
It was open yesterday and the posted weekday hours were 8am to 6pm.
No clue.
It is a very well worn path that's great for beginners. A small pack with minimal supplies would be more than sufficient.
If you turn into the entrance at sparrow springs, take the first left and park in the lot. The lake is down that trail, maybe 20 yds.
No waterfalls at this park. Canoe rentals seasonally by the lake. Many trails some easy walk and others far more strenuous and challenging. The views from the top are great on clear days you can see for miles. There are also seasonal activities guided by park rangers that are interesting for both young and old alike
You need to bring your own snacks & drinks
No they stay open.
Just information on the state park, maps, brochures, history. Gift shop area. They have a little museum exhibit in there as well. Bathrooms too.
No. Why do you need to anyway? And no, Kevin. You can't.
Your only allowed to preach, any religion, after picking up 5 pieces of trash
The visitor center is closed at the present time due to Covid. You could probably walk in.
I believe you'd be stuck there and you probably wouldn't get anyone to come let you out until morning. That's what I was led to believe anyhow
Backpack yes,water yes, picnic no.
Nope - just people leaving trash and not picking it up. To me, it is mysterious why some are so inconsiderate. Sorry to disappoint. This said- If you are looking for that kinda stuff, you can check out " Brown mountain lights" via Google.
Legally? Maybe. I don't know if the hike would be feasible and there's not too much room at the top for a lot of people
No.
Yes there are several trails.. Google Crowders mountain. It details the different types of trails..
Crowders mountain would be a stretch for strollers maybe not bikes. Some people do mountain biking there, however kings mountain has a very nice walking/hiking/biking that is stroller friendly as it is all paved and amazing in the spring when the flowers have bloomed and the butterflies are out.
0.9 miles with 336 steps at the top. https://www.ncparks.gov/crowders-mountain-state-park/trail/backside-trail
You can't go all the way to the top big rocks and hills to climb so a stroller won't work
Yeah there is just talk to the people in the vistor center
Not often. You can check the website to confirm whether or not the trail is open before going.
I saw multiple people with their dogs at the top. I would just make sure you have water for the little guy.
No it would not be advised
I don't know how much it is their a number you can call to ask
You should get a parking spot easily since it opens at 7AM
Yes there is you can go to the office and they'll show you the way to go there
No sir, it's not that kind of state park.
You can't remove anything from the park so you can look but can't dig or take.
It was never seasonal it was year round and we do not rent them anymore. You can bring your own.
r
Parking is free unless the lot is full, then there are a few paid parking areas close by on privately owned.
The trails are open when the park is
Yes and it's a hike to get to them. So if you go pack lite or you'll be making a few trips. Once you get there at your site it has pads set up for your tents and a nice fire pit with metal cooking grate. If you want to cook on it. The bathrooms don't have running water but they do have a water supply right out side to wash your hands or fill your water bottles. Have fun!
Yes, there is a small lake near the visitor center.
Long, strenuous hike to the top. Can be done with a baby if you have a backpack carrier. Cannot be done with a stroller.
