I ended up taking the ferry at night and it was very cold! Good reason to remain in the car during the crossing when it's cold! I like this ferry. The people who run it, at the purchase booth, at the loading dock, and on the ferry itself are always kinds and helpful.

Yes, even full size 18 wheelers regularly cross on this ferry. However, bigger vehicles cost more than cars.
It should be. It very rarely closes. It recently closed for half a day due to high winds and ice. Check their website - they post any closings.
Tom - there are multiple LCF crossings with a variety of food options. There is no food service on the ferries.
I am not sure. It takes about half an hour to get across the lake.
