Frank Greenwood and his team at PuroClean were a pleasure to work with. We had water damage from a leak in our home and he was on top of the project from the very start. He called to check in weekly on my insurance claim and made sure that I felt comfortable with his assessment of our damage. When he came with his crew, they were all very professional, kind, and responsive to my questions. They did quite a bit of demo work and were meticulous in cleaning after they finished with demolition. We had a pipe burst in our basement which resulted in about an inch of water standing in the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room of our in-law apartment. The following morning I called PuroClean in Wakefield after finding out the restoration company our insurance company had contracted wouldn't be able to come out for several more days. Within an hour of calling PuroClean we had a crew here assessing the damage and beginning the clean-up process. I can't say enough nice things about PuroClean. In addition to being extremely responsive they are thorough, knowledgable, communicative, and all around good people. My only regret is not calling them sooner! Water from outside the structure is contaminated and should be handled be professionals such as PuroClean of Wakefield. Even if the water was not from outside if it is there for an extended time then many materials will need to be removed because of the increased contamination from long-standing water. Drywall will soften and may fall, especially from ceilings. Carpet, pad and other floor coverings may need to be removed. Every situation is different! For the best, specific advice, please call your local PuroClean as soon as the damage is discovered.
Call PuroClean of Wakefield to come to your home to help do an assessment of the extent of the damage! They can begin remediation efforts immediately - which is the best way to minimize the damage of reduce the costs of the event. Even a "small" fire results in smoke/soot/odor throughout the home.
You have to first remove the water as quickly as possible. Use fans and open windows to speed up the process. Use a dehumidifier to dry out the room. Steam clean carpet and flooring, as well as sanitize walls and baseboards.
