Interesting place but overrated.

Stunning building and grounds; majestic, tasteful and aesthetically pleasing. Packed with history - well worth the admission price.

A snapshot from another time, found in a tranquil setting.

Really nice place to visit! I am now inspired to go read her books! Definitely recommend signing up for the tour; the docent provides information that adds a really interesting context to the house. Also nice to go earlier in the day if you can, leaving time to have some tea on the terrace. The terrace cafe does close a little early, so check their hours. Also the grounds are amazing! Leave yourself time to explore the garden, and all the sculptures! Beautiful backdrops for some photos. The house is interesting and well maintained. Don’t worry about the bad reviews here; they tend to be almost a decade old, and the house and non-profit that runs it has made a lot of progress in restoring the house to its former glory. It is very French / classical in its architecture and lovely to walk through.

Both home and garden are beautiful
Summer hours are not posted on their website yet. I suggest checking there website in March or so
It's a self guided tour. There is a limit to the number of people for each time slot. Once you enter the house there is also a limit to the number of people in each room.
Yes, Cafe & Bookstore patrons may use the restrooms. I hope you enjoy your day at The Mount.
You may want to check their website for that types of information. Sorry, I can't help you any further with this🤷♂️
Yes they are but just don't look at them from the deck. Try to get into them and even be on them. The way the land rolls behind the gardens into the woods is simply beautiful. I was more impressed by the layout of the land, the grass and the vegetation that went into the woods. And I saw it on a cloudy rainy day. Can't imagine what it would look like my beautiful spring morning or in the fall. Not that the garden wasn't pretty. I was just in awe of the land. You're in for a real treat.
