This is at the Tennis Hall of Fame. This is a beautiful building and grounds, but the restaurant part is a bit tired, as were the staff. The food was fine. Got lobster salad, calamari, fish, wine. We were with friends who had flown into RI from Chicago and were 1st timers to Newport. They were thrilled to be there. Saw the museum and movie, shopped for tennis togs, had cocktails and lunch in the front window watching people pass by, saw Thames Street shops. They loved it.

Went for lunch and walked in the front door and it looked closed. Chairs on top of tables and no one to greet us. No sign to direct us to the back. We wandered to the back and were finally greeted. Setting is LOVELY. View is beautiful. Cloth napkins and table cloth, nice menu and food service provide for an elevated luncheon experience .... EXCEPT...(insert screech) the background music was horrendous. 80s and 90s rock music. Whaaaat?!? It so does NOT fit with the aesthetic or the setting. This would have been an exceptionally classy and outstanding meal with some instrumental jazz or something as classy as the restaurant. Please consider choosing music that matches your beautiful location and good food.

They don’t even have tea and they call themselves a brunch place. The food is also not good
