It was a great spot to pass by while we were heading from Lake Placid to Manhattan We took great pictures when the season was over but at least we have a chance to see where history was made

As a local, it's nice to see ORDA working to keep the Olympic venues in operation. However, visitors, don't expect anything to be free. It's a state run operation and from what I understand from a newspaper article published this past fall, they're struggling financially. A few tips I have from visitors: -Want to see all the venues but don't necessarily want to be physical, the Olympic sites passport is your best bet. It's approx $35 a person (if I remember correctly), good for one visit to each venue, and doesn't need to be used in a single day. The ORDA store on main street is your go to place for info on that. - Centerplate runs a lot, if not all the operations for dining and gift shops at the venues, not ORDA. - Communication is not a strong suit at Whiteface; that means for anyone. So most of the time if you ask ski/snowboard staff about an issue don't be offended if they can't give you an answer. - Finally, as of the beginning of 2018 there's construction going on at Whiteface, and from word of mouth, will not be completed this season. Don't be afraid to try activities not run by ORDA. Off the top of my head, they are run by locals and supporting them is always a plus in my book. The dog sledding is a lot of fun, and yes, the huskies love very cold temperatures and are having a ball outside.

Questions & Answers

Where do you find information on public skating either on the oval or at the arena? The ORDA web site is terrible .

It's about ten dollars per person but I'm not quite sure they might have changed them
