Someone had recommended we go take a walk here today. It kinda reminded me of a swamp slightly, so we left within a cpl minutes of walking & went to Colonie pool instead!!!Such better way to beat the heat for sure had a way better time then we woulda had. Maybe next time we can give it another chance, people did look happy & they were having a great time. We figured it would be better to give a park a chance then to go to Washington Park again & see druggies all over 🙄.

A small park with a kids playground, a short trail around the lake, lots of benches and lots of nature to look at. Great for a bike hike or a leisurely evening spent fishing or with your kids.

Yes, sunfish and bass. Shallow, good place for little kids to start. Nice playground if they tire of fishing.
Yes
Grills no picnic tables very few
No, there is no swimming allowed in Buckingham Lake. There are public swimming pools at Lincoln Park Pool and Mater Christi Pool.
No swimming pool. There's a play ground and a very narrow trail around the lake. There's also many bugs so wear bug spray if you plan to visit. Also if you have children that want to play at the playground best time for them to enjoy most of the park to themselves is between 5 and 7pm.. Enjoy!!
No
Unfortunately I don't think they allow camping
Absolutely you can
With certain exceptions noted under license requirements for New York State, 16 or older must have a valid freshwater fishing license to fish in New York state. There are certain days that you can fish in our state for free. So yes, you should have a license if you are fishing there or anywhere in the state.
You probably could but if u were to fall in -- YUCK. It's mucky and sometimes stinky. Lots of geese with droppings.
They do have 1 porta potty adjacent to the playground, near the parking lot. It's not the Ritz, but in an emergency, it's a life saver. Let me add, l think it's the nicest little park in Albany. Something most people can appreciate. Enjoy, just don't tell the world Lol.
