The sales lady told me they have different KONA cotton than JoAnn's KONA cotton.....so I checked. THERE IS ONLY ONE KONA COTTON Here’s the response I received from Teresa Coates at Robert Kaufman Fabrics: Kona Cotton Solids are sold at both independent fabric retailers and Joann Fabrics and Craft stores. We sell the exact same quality of product to both and while there has been lots of talk online about different quality standards, that isn’t true. Any inconsistencies are not from our end since we only produce one Kona cotton, but in 271 colors! I won't do business with people that are NOT honest.

My favorite store in Sarasota! I love the machines, and they have great classes. Amazing bag making classes, garment, and of course quilt classes. Some beautiful linens for garments. Great waxed canvases and corks for bags and wallets. Wonderful, friendly staff, treated like family. Nothing sews like a Bernina

I've spent a decent amount of money in this store although I've only been in a couple of times. I visited the Modern Sewist today because I had bought a Teflon foot from them for my Bernina - not cheap at about $80 - that turned out to be defective. Heads up if you don't know this - you should have the original packaging if you need to return a defective foot. Would be helpful to be informed of this when you purchase the foot initially. While they did replace the defective foot they sold me with a new one, IMO the woman who waited on me was condescending and snobby. I will drive to the Bernina store in Tampa from now on.
