Excellent price and very fun trail! Got to see just some large birds and fish jumping out of the water.

We took the Boat Nature Cruise down Tarpon Bay. The tour began with a hands on touching experience with various water creatures, and then to the boat with a guided tour. We saw many birds (some I have never heard of), a dolphin and the nose of a Manatee. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great experience for the family to go on. (The boat was covered so had some protection from the sun.)

This review is only for the Sunset cruise. I’m giving it a 3 star rating not because of the staff (they are great) but just on the overall experience from a customer /boarding experience. Felt a little unorganized, we never knew when we were boarding and they have a pre-tour before the cruise which is a way too long. Would be a better idea if you want to come early and look at small sea life in the fish tanks. They don’t serve drinks on the boat so we bought a couple canned drinks but after the 30 minute pre-tour we had warm/hot drinks on the boat. They should at least have a cooler on board. Ultimately if you want a school field trip feel do this, if you want a more amenity sunset cruise consider doing it on Captiva.

Had a very nice, serene evening aboard the cruise around Tarpon Bay. The captain and guide were casual and provided insight on neat details regarding the bay and Sanibel. Calm waters and a nice breeze made for a beautiful sunset as we watched hundreds of birds flocking to the Rookery Islands. You can bring your own snacks and adult beverages are permitted. What a nice little outting on the water. Would definitely go back for the cruise and other tours offered.

They do. Its 7 dollars plus tax for non motorized and 14 dollars plus tax with motorized.
Rentals are on a first come, first serve basis between 8am-3pm. Please bring a CC (we take everything except Am Ex). Also, please call the shop at 239-472-8900 to refer the tidal schedule to insure there is enough water to get into the kayak trail (if that is the route you desire to take). Hope to see you soon. TBE
Absolutely! They must stay in the kayak the whole time
You can rent them. Check the website to be sure.
Yea, but it will cost $7+ tax
The price of a guided kayak tour is $35/adult, $30/child. These tours you would need to make a reservation. Call our shop at 239-472-8900 in order to make a reservation. We put everyone into Double Kayaks on the guided tours. If you wanted to rent a kayak and go on your own, without a guide, doubles are $40 for 2 hours and $20/hour every hour after. Singles are $30 for 2 hours and $15/hour every hour after. Rentals are first, come first server between 8am-4pm. All boats must be off the water by 545pm at the very latest. Hope this info helps. Any additional information can be found on our website at www.tarpobayexplorers.com Cheers, TBE
Good afternoon, There are a myriad of paths to bike within “Ding Darling” NWR property. Wildlife Drive is paved and is a 4 mile, one way path. So, if you started from the Education Center and went through the entire drive, it would be 8 miles. If you rent bikes from us (Tarpon Bay Explorers), it would be a 12 mile round trip. Another trail, that is an extension of Wildlife Drive is Indigo trail. Also there is the Bailey Tract. All are very bikeable for all ages. TBE
I would suggest renting three two-person kayaks. No guided tours are not required, but the staff is very knowledgeable.

Good afternoon! Nature and Sealife Cruises are every day at 11am & 1:30. We always recommended reservations which you can make over the phone. Just call 249-472-8900. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on Guided Tours. They are allowed on any rental. How this information helps! Cheers, TBE
In the kayak area alligators are a rare sighting and not to be feared, they are scared of something as big as a kayak. Nothing to worry about :)
Do they deliver... What?
