Quaint, peaceful park. A little small, but perfect for an hour or so walk

Beautiful preserve with mostly flat and shaded trails!! Parking lot is past the metal gate (beyond the apartment complex)

Not worth the drive. We saw some deer but it was a quick “hike” around a little pond. The kids were bored and we were back in our car after 20 minutes.

Very lovely trails through a lush wood and gentle creeks. Based on the fauna, there will likely be fields of flowers during the Spring. Some notes: 9 standard parking spaces 1 handicap parking space Dogs and bikes are explicitly forbidden as to not disturb the preserve. Gates lock at 4pm daily. The gate may be half open during open times, but you can still drive into park.

The park is open as of May 28, 2022.
From what I have been told, you cant "recreate" there. It is a botanical preserve and they do not want activities to occur that could damage the plants. Dogs are not welcome there either.
Yes, it is a small place but they have made the best of the area. I think (?) if you walk all the variations you cover 3 or so miles.
No dogs are allowed since dogs disrupt the wildlife in a park this small.
Recently an escaped dog was hanging out in Winkler and ended up killing a young deer and seriously endangering the wildlife in this very small park. All of the deer left Winkler for several months which is dangerous due to the urban surroundings. Even on a leash dogs would be close enough to drive the deer out of the park in fear again.

Probably no as that might upset the endangered rattlers, delicate sumac/nettle ivies and frowning sheriff:(
Dogs are explicitly not allowed as or the signs on the park entrance as to not disturb the wildlife sanctuary.
