Just a gem of a place. I hiked the majority of the trails today. Highlights were an alligator, a couple gopher tortoises, a pair of bluebirds, and at one point I found myself watching four pileated woodpeckers all at the same time. Dozens (hundreds?) of gray squirrels, several deer, and a fleeting glimpse of a turkey. Might be more appropriately named Squirrel Creek. They were super abundant with all the oaks and hickories. I did find a lonestar tick on me, but I will definitely be back!

Watch for snakes sunning themselves on the trail.

Very nice preserve with numerous trails. Quiet with no sounds of traffic except for the occasional plane overhead. Mostly flat but has a number of inclines.

Pretty nice trails for an easy walk. There are about 2 places where in inclines/declines, but I think most people will be able to handle it. There are some spots that get flooded, so just be weary of that, and ready to turn around if the path is blocked. But still a good time. I haven't been too all the trails, but they have a shorter one that loops which I went on. Kids will be able to walk this with you. There is also a fitness path through the middle. It has exersise spots there. And if you keep going there is a second trail you can go to. I'll check that out next for sure. I'm excited to go back. I saw a lot of animal tracks in the mud there. And on my way out, I saw a family of deer flee by the parking lot. Quite a nice little park. Bring a bit of bug spray though, as there is a small pond in the area that harbors mosquitos. Nicely kept trails as well, and FYI, there are no bathrooms, so plan accordingly.
