I will never work at a Banfield location again, especially Gainesville, VA. I had multiple health issues that came while I worked there, such as having a seizure and multiple diabetic fainting spells that I could never control, and apparently something they could never understand. Management was awful. My manager at the time was Haleigh who, as far as I’ve known, has since left. But she was never fair to me. I got verbally and physically written up twice due to my health issues and hitting a deer. Haleigh had multiple attitude issues and didn’t care what had happened to you, just cared if you could make it to work. All they, or maybe she, cared about was finding someone to cover my shift. As if it could find one during a seizure or a car accident. Management is very poor. The stress level on the job is poor. None of the assistants help out in the back and there is such a strong turnover. This is a poor company to work for and I will never look back. They insist people sign up for wellness plans, which only covers healthy care, but if you’re pet is sick they can rarely ever get you in. No one answers the phone. And all in all, my experience working there - everyone is tired of everything and too lazy to do the actually work. A poor company to bring your pets too. Matter of fact, they stay in kennels all day and some of the doctors do not know how or do not feel comfortable performing procedures if a more experienced doctor is not there, such as spays and dentals. All this company cars is getting their numbers in. Highly do not reccomend. Private practices are the way to go.

They took very good care of my baby and they shared a lot of details before and after. He's very rambunctious so it was hard for me to stay after to talk, but they also sent all the info in an email. My only qualm with them is the amount of time it took for us to get checked in. They were talking to an owner of two chihuahuas for a good 30 mins before another tech walked to the front to assist more customers. I don't know how there system for asking for backup works, but I just wish it was better. This caused me to be late to work which is very frustrating

I have four dogs all under Banfield wellness plan . never did I ever experience the 13 years I’ve been with Banfield Thos concerning experience. I dropped off my dog as a drop off early morning at 8 so I could pick her up later the afternoon . I spoke with a young lady on the front desk to make sure if Miley will be ready by 4 PM because I have to go to work. She assured me it would not take longer than 4 PM and so I ran my errands it was 2 o’clock I still didn’t get a call from the clinic so I called back consistently and no one picked up. At this point I was concerned and worried about my dog health because I did not get a call back and she has eaten anything because I dropped her off so early so I went in person turns out she’s been ready I just didn’t get a call back and the front girls excuse was they’ve been really busy but while I was waiting in line I saw her pick up phone calls. After leaving banfield I’m concerned leaving my other pets here do they really care I was highly disappointed.

I have been calling for two-weeks and left several messages for a return call back and nothing! My mother passed and I am taking care of her dog now. I am trying to get the her 3yr rabbies shot and they don't answer or return calls. I am getting over frustrated. I have emailed them as per their request and we will see how long it takes to get a call back.

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including: • Vaccinations • Dental Care • Parasite Control • Nutritional Counseling • Behavioral Counseling • Comprehensive Examinations
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
