Simply stated, Dr. Marcotte and his team are absolutely stellar! They exceeded my every expectation of patient service. Their practice is my benchmark for future care. Let me begin this review by saying that anything medical makes me apprehensive, but I was instantly put at ease after meeting Dr. Marcotte. He has a magnetic personality that inspires trust and confidence. He is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and kind. I never felt rushed. He made sure that I completely understood my diagnosis and prognosis. When I explained that I had an upcoming event that could not be rescheduled, he astounded me by scheduling my wrist surgery, post-op visit and PT to accommodate me. Given his busy practice, it clearly shows his commitment to his patients. The team at Orthopaedic Specialities is fabulous too! They work together seamlessly to provide excellent service and the friendly and positive energy in the office is genuine.

Ive been going to Dr. Marcotte for several years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve moved to Gainesville area and still drive back to Clearwater to be treated by him. If you have someone you trust there is no reason to go elsewhere.

DO YOU PERFORM CARPAL TUNNEL SURGERY AT A HOSPITAL, AND WHICH HOSPITAL WOULD THAT BE?

Edward Pianka | Sep 11, 2020
Anthony L. Marcotte, DO, FAOAO | Sep 11, 2020

Yes, endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery is the most common procedure that I perform and requires specialized instruments, so we would need to plan to go to one of the facilities I routinely operate. We do most of these at an outpatient surgery center and not the hospital, but that depends on where your insurance.

Have pain in lower pelvis and back when standing whst can that be?

Cynthia Williams | Sep 12, 2019
Anthony L. Marcotte, DO, FAOAO | Sep 12, 2019

There is a long list of possibilities your ailments could be that would require a thorough history and physical examination by one of our specialists. Drs. Davidson and Piazza are our spine specialists and would be able to give you their expert orthopaedic opinion if you were interested. I would suggest, though, that you consider a visit with your primary doctor first since as suggested by RR, there are many non - orthopaedic related conditions that could also cause these problems. Your family physician would be able to rule these in or out and then refer you appropriately. Hope this helps.

Can they perform an esophagectomy?

Tyler Green | Sep 12, 2018
Anthony L. Marcotte, DO, FAOAO | Sep 12, 2018

No, orthopaedic surgeons specialize in musculoskeletal disorders including the bones, joints, muscle, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and arteries. In particular, I focus on the hand and upper extremity. The most common reason for requiring an esophagectomy is for cancer. Depending on the reason for needing an esophagectomy, a surgical oncologist might be a good person to seek to in order to get this procedure done.

Do you do follow-ups from wrist surgery?

Nora Dunbar | Sep 12, 2018
Anthony L. Marcotte, DO, FAOAO | Sep 12, 2018

Yes, we do follow-ups for wrist surgery and any other upper extremity (arm) surgery. It is very helpful if you are able to bring a copy of the operative report that the surgeon dictated after the surgery. This way we can be certain what procedure was done and how to best manage your recovery.
