We are locals and live in Cape Coral Florida. We had never been here before and we had family in town so we thought we would take them here to sight see and they really enjoyed themselves and they took tons of pictures! Really nice and informative place to bring your family to see.

The Edison & Ford Winter Estates has been on my bucket list since I moved here in 2002. I am very happy we went today - better late than never. Everything was beautiful from the homes gardens, museum, shops and cafes. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting this amazing estate.

The place was really nice, you can see the summer residences of Ford and Edison. Chose a day that isn't too hot becauae most of the tour is outdoors, which in the heat of Florida can be really exhausting. One thing that I really liked was the fact that you can download de app and scan qr codes that tell you the story. Really cool

That's right ... And you can also do the walk through the gardens without paying the entrance to the museum, of course that is the main idea of visiting the farm. I went as a family and a single adult entered with all the children and the rest of us waited outside in the gardens ... it is very beautiful.

I hope you enjoy your time in Fort Myers! At this time, we do not have any facilities to safely store luggage. We are looking into how we may be able to at a later date. We recommend that you allow 1 1/2 hours to tour the site.
As of now, we are open tonight for Holiday Nights. We will be closed Christmas Eve (for Holiday Nights) and Christmas Day and will re-open the day after Christmas.
A ticket for the guided tour is $30. A self guided tour is $25. We did not pay for parking.
Wheelchairs can be borrowed with a driver's license when you purchase tickets.
General admission covers a self-guided tour of the entire site (botanical gardens, museum, lab and homes). Specialty tours that go inside the homes are additional.
Hi John, It is a slow-release fertilizer hanging above the orchids and air plants to provide nutrients for growth. The best to use is Osmocote or Dynamite slow release which has low numbers of Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Pottassium -- coated to release small amounts over a certain time period. Usually an 8-2-12 numbers on the label. We just use sachet bags which you can get at a craft store or can use tulle tied in a bundle then suspended over the orchids and tied to trees.
Guided tour is like 30 bucks per person. Don't know the price of the recorded self tour.
Admission depends on which tour you do, self guided with a recording you carry or with a tour guide. The self tour I believe was $50 each. Yes they have wheelchairs. You just need to leave an ID which you get back when you return the chair. The grounds are magnificent and the history is amazing.
The walk a bit long but I think you can rent a chair or a cart to give the full Tour
Yes, the Dali Museum is on the reciprocal list. You will be eligible for a free self-guided audio tour when you show your membership card(s).

The Edison property was deeded to the city of Fort Meyers in 1947 and was opened to the public shortly after. In 1988, the adjacent Henry Ford winter estate was purchased and opened for public tours in 1990.
