For the past two years, every single time someone comes out to service my AC, there is an issue that was NEVER an issue before they came! Don’t send no one else to my house that don’t know what they are doing! This is ridiculous!

Very helpful and pleasant experience. The techs answered any question or concerns I had and fully explained the workings of my new system. Made sure everything was working and cleaned the whole area before leaving. Was very happy with their work. Highly recommend.

A duct cleaning should include removing and sanitizing all supply and return grills, placing a negative pressure (vacuum) on the duct system, brushing the entire duct system with duct brushes, cleaning the indoor unit and coil, and sanitizing the entire duct system with an EPA approved microbiocide to kill any mold, mildew, or bacteria. The process usually takes two men 6-8 hours to complete.
The National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years. However, many factors affect how often your ducts need cleaning. Customer with bad allergies may need to have their ducts cleaned more frequently. Based on our experience, customers who change their air filters and have their system cleaned regularly can go 10 years or more without needing a duct cleaning. Springer Bros. offers free in-home consultations. So, we recommend having us evaluate your duct system and give you an honest assessment as to whether or not you would benefit from a duct cleaning.
Just like regular maintenance on your car, regular maintenance on your HVAC system is extremely important. Regular maintenance will make sure your system lasts longer and operates more efficiently. We recommend having a full-system service at least once per year. Many of our customers have a full-system service completed twice a year. A full-system service should include cleaning the indoor and outdoor coils, cleaning the drain line and drain pan, and checking refrigerant levels and electrical components. All equipment manufacturers require your system be serviced at least once per year to maintain your warranty.
According to Duke Energy, your thermostat should be set on 78 degrees to maximize comfort and efficiency. Setting your thermostat too low can result in high electric bills, extra wear and tear on your equipment, and can cause your system to freeze up and stop working.
Air filters should be checked every 30 days. Depending on the foot traffic through your home and if you have pets, you may need to change the filter every 30-60 days. Changing your air filter regularly provides better indoor air quality in your home and helps your air conditioning system operate more efficiently.
ASHRAE and ACCA use a “1% design temperature” metric to determine the size or cooling capacity of an air conditioner. In central Florida, the “1% design temperature” is 93 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that in Central Florida, outdoor temperatures will only exceed 93 degrees 1% or 88 hours of the year. On hot summer afternoons when the temperatures exceed 93 degrees, your air conditioner may struggle to maintain the temperature setting in your home. Often, we are asked why the system size or cooling capacity cannot be increased. We cannot increase the size or cooling capacity, because it will not fall within design guidelines and it will increase humidity in your home.
The life expectancy of an air conditioning system in Central Florida is 10-15 years. Our hot Florida summers create a lot of wear and tear on your air conditioner and your air conditioner works harder than any other appliance in your home.
The mandated minimum SEER rating for Florida is 14 SEER. Most electric companies give rebates to customers for purchasing a heat pump with a SEER rating of 15 or higher. A SEER rating of 20 or more is available from most equipment manufacturers. Higher SEER ratings are recommended for homeowners that plan on living in their home for more than five years. Not only do higher SEER ratings save you money on your electrical bill, but they also significantly decrease the humidity in your home and create a more comfortable environment.
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is the measurement used to show the efficiency of an air conditioning system. SEER ratings measure the efficiency of an air conditioner in a way that is similar to how miles per gallon (MPG) are measured for cars. The higher the MPG rating is for your car, the less gas your car uses. The higher the SEER rating is on your air conditioner, the less power it uses and you save more money on your electric bill.
According to the Department of Energy, Consumer Reports, and many other reputable sources, choosing a quality contractor is most important when purchasing a new system. An HVAC system is arguably one of the most complex and most expense purchases a homeowner can make. Hiring an experienced, qualified, bonded, insured, and licensed contractor that stands behind their installation is the most important factor, even over the brand of equipment.
