I had a slow leak flat tire and opted to call first and ask if they did tire repairs. "Yes, come in" was the response. I was really relieved and headed over. When I got there, the front desk person quickly walked around my car then told me the tire was below the repair limit. This is what got to me, is that he did not measure the tire with a measurement tool. I asked him what they measured, and he said, "LOW" he could not produce a 16th measurement. I worked in the industry for years, and the common practice was, for a tread repair, under 3/16ths was the cut off point for repairs. under 3/16ths would be a no go situation. I explained this to him, and he was obviously not listening to anything I said, and proceeded to try and sell me new tires. He asked probing questions then immediately went into sales tactics to try and make a poor attempt at pathos. "How far did you drive on these?" "Oh, that is dangerous for your family" "You wont make it outside the state on these tires " "You know this is dangerous right?" Constantly expressing how I can get some new tires right then and there. A horrible bait and switch overall, they never INTENDED to attempt a tire repair, that was just to get me in the store, they never measured the tires, its just about selling you new tires. I went ahead and did the repair myself, and bought a tread depth gauge, and they were at 4/16th on the rear, near the lower end of the life of a time, but repairable, drivable, and safe. The scare tactics were very disgusting. The tires were still well within a drivable range. good for a repair, but they did not want to honor what they told me over the phone about repairing a flat. The end result? I've driven out of the state, and another 5000 miles on the tires. They completely wasted my time, and I lost all trust if EVER utilizing a discount tire in my future. This has become a great story I make sure to tell ANYONE if they ask about where to get some new tires.
