I give this place 5 stars for customer service. I had had some upheaval in my life and forgot to cancel this appointment. I got a call two days in advance to confirm my appointment at which time I explained I needed to cancel. They canceled my appointment for a full refund. Had they not have called I would have totally forgotten. Thanks team Float!

I’ve floated at a variety of float centers around the country and Float Boston is one of the few that actually focus on the float experience itself. This is what matters most, Sanitary, comfortable, thrilling, relaxed and very quiet. It might take several visits to really experience the many facets which sensory deprivation has to offer yet every visit is a joyful adventure.

I experienced my first float last week and did my second yesterday. The staff at FLOAT are kind and knowledgeable. Anyone experiencing any nervousness will be put at ease and given full permission to engage with the experience however feels right for them with absolutely no judgement. I was nervous about being in the dark but the Summer Sky 2 tank has lights in the tub as well as sweet little star lights in the ceiling. I decided to not try turning them off on my first go. I was able to just explore the experience, trusting in myself and the space. It was great, so relaxing! I slept like a baby that night. My second float offered a new perspective. As soon as I entered the same tank that I was in for my first float in, I was called to turn the lights off. I was surprised to feel totally fine in the dark. The temperature of the water truly gives you the sensation of being suspended in space. I went into a deep meditation with some fun visual explorations. I even fell asleep twice. Definitely looking forward to continuing my exploration of floating. It's a very nourishing experience and one of the more effective forms on therapy I have tried. Thanks to the team there for all you do and offer the community! 🙏🏼💜✨

First time floater here. This place was great. I arrived about ten minutes early for my appt and was greeted by two smiling employees who immediately put me at ease. The walkthrough orientation was really helpful too, explaining how to …John, thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed your experience. We hope to see you again soon!

Our tank doors don't even have latches! The doors just rest closed with a little bit of gravity or friction and open with a simple push. We're also happy to tell you you don't even need to close the door if it makes you uncomfortable, or you can prop it open a crack with a washcloth. It often happens that once you relax in the tank for a while with the door open, it starts seeming appealing to get full darkness by closing it, but if it doesn't, that's fine. No one will tell you you "did it wrong" or anything. There are call buttons in the tanks if you have questions or want help for any reason. Floating is pretty safe. If you're unsteady on your feet or would have difficulty lifting something like a can of soup over your head, let us know and we'll make sure to help. Like a pool, there's some risk of slipping and falling, so we have lots of hand-holds. And if you have epilepsy you should talk to your doctor first.
Hi Shaun, Thanks for your question. The short answer is: if you are very sensitive to sound, you should book Escape 4. It has a vinyl liner and is farthest away from the road. The longer answer is more complicated, and I hesitate to go into it here. Please be assured that we have poured many thousands of dollars into our sound reduction, and lots of people have had great floats where they didn't hear any road noise (like the three who commented before me). We do our best to make sure everyone has a good experience, and if not, we want to hear about it so that we can make it right. - Sara
If you're claustrophobic go for the one with the lights in it, otherwise go for the one that looks like a bunker hatch.
Floating might be like how you imagine space. For me it's like a supremely restful nap in perfect solitude on the world's best mattress. You can buy 60 or 90 minute sessions for $60 or $75 respectively. There are also discounted "community float" slots available Mondays before noon for $40. You do not need therapy to float.
