The first day I got to Pasadena I felt like I reached the end of the road. It can be scary to surrender to a facility. This is THE BEST place you can check in to. I was able to get on the right medications, placed with the right therapist, and a staff that truly cares. I had medical stuff going on outside mental health they scheduled my appointments and drove me to them. I was able to find a solution to that as well. It’s different. If your hesitant that’s ok but this place changes lives. Take care of your health :)

5 stars all the way! I just wanted to take a moment to say how helpful Claudia, Angela and Sabina have been when it comes to sending patients their way. Christie and I are case coordinators with Baptist Behavioral Health, and with our busy case loads, it is valuable to have knowledgeable folks in place to ensure a smooth transition of care from our inpatient/outpatient facilities. This was my first (and prayerfully last) placement at a residential facility. I had previously spent 10 days in Acute Care - a very different setup. It was about 18 months ago I was at the Villa. Honestly, while you are there, you don't realize how much help and support you are getting. Many people like me are simply focusing on "what do I need to get out?" So if you are reading this looking for a place, I would encourage the reader to know the importance of being all in on your healing. It does truly take both sides. I was there for 75 days! I enjoyed the daily check-ins; the structure of group classes that provided the tools necessary for healing. I still refer to some of them still. The food was amazing. 5-star. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and morning and evening snacks. You never went hungry. I appreciated the ability to go out each day for a walk - especially as it was COVID time. Being able to get some fresh air was refreshing. I even earned privileges to go for a walk on my own. Yes, they trusted me to not run off! The nurses were very friendly and encouraging and helped me to keep on top of my meds. We had weekly trips out. The technical term is "exposure therapy", my term, "the ability to be out and about with normal people." These events included boat trips, trips to the beach and springs, batting cages. Plus, our fitness classes often took place in a local park. Special shout out to Curtis. And also to the lady who did art, I think her name begins with M! Forgive me! Art therapy is another tool we were given. I also experienced the "house" where I "lived" for a week before going to outpatient - at the villas. The one not so good thing for me was there was a high percentage of interns involved. However, I am very pleased to say that I am now on the other side of my recovery and there is hope. Recovery is possible if you make it a priority. I would recommend the Villa, if you need these kinds of services. I pray you try to get help before you get to the stage where you need to have this intervention.
