Housing Authority employees are wonderful people who have a gift from God to help people with important issues in their lives. God bless you!

Find low income housing for the seniors who pay your sarys and pay taxes who want to live in sarasota but yet they cant afford it anymore cause all you do is help them on north end of sarasota when you should be helping ALL seniors of sarasota.remember most are someone's family here who lived all thrives here and it's a shame they have to. Over cause there isnt enough affordable housing for the Seniirs. Make something work for everyone not just certain people.

Follow what your lease contract says. Contact his representative at Housing Authority and explain what is going on he/she might be able to better explain to your tenant the awful consequences of not paying his portion. Make sure you put it in writing after you talk to them so there is a time track of the conversation. Many times tenants do not understand the bad consequences that they may have if they don't pay their share on time every time. Also, there is no excuse because HA recalculates what they pay you according to the income of the tenant-if they loose their job and report it, HA will pay full rent to you. Your tenants do not understand that they may be taken out of the program as they would be in default with the HA agreement. If all this fails, you have the right to start an eviction. Maybe the tenant does not understand that once he has a recorded eviction they cannot qualify for rent help. Work with your tenant, educate him/her, he/she will come around. Good luck .
Code Enforcement would be your best bet. If you are a Housing Authority participant then report it to your case manager immediately
Check at The Senior Friendship Center in the area.
Yes. Their section 8 waiting list is closed. However, try their public housing application. You should be ok with the hours and kids.
Usually not but you ....you never know
It depends on what stage of the process you are in. Are you porting from another state?
Yes Manatee Ave. And South of there. Not North of that.
Hi, You would go to Sarasota Housing Authority in Sarasota. They will be open on Wednesday. If you haven't already, visit their website at http://sarasotahousing.org for more information. Hope this helps.
Im not sure at least 15 years old
It's typically for the 'head of household'... The family size can vary. Call them & ask as there are 2+ different federal housing programs to assist those in need. Section 8 is just one the housing authority handles.
If you can find a place that hasn't been gentrified yet, yes. The sad story is Sarasota city & County lacks & doesn't plan on building more affordable housing any time soon. & many that use to rent (duplexes, modern apartments, & single family homes) to the housing authority have stopped accepting housing vouchers for two reasons, 1) bad tenants that never learned how to treat other people's things they borrowed & 2) they can make more $ without the hassle of #1 to part-time/seasonal renters or to other annual renters they basically are discriminating against section 8 & the housing authority for... Took me a year & a half to find a decent place & I was relocating for health reasons from out of state... Best thing to do is try to utilize their family self-sufficiency program & buy your own house. There's some nice ones as long as you're willing to not live anywhere near the city of Sarasota...
had this happen to me ,i called the health dept who sent n investigator to the home, verifyed the mold issues we had and served our landlord nottice to fix all issues within a certain amount of time, and was able to make him deduct the rent increase until all issues were fixed ,i got 2mths rent free but had a horrid relationship with landlord after of course.also they had to provide 7 gallons of water per persn in home per day till fixed.it took approx 3 mths
