This the second time I have been there. It's amazing. A couple of things that were new is a gallery that has pictures of the towns music history which is really nice. They have a New Bakersfield Sound exhibit that just opened and is a wonderful tribute to that music and they have Merle Haggard's actual Childhood home there. Great place.

Hi there! I'm sure you can take as many photos as you'd like with paid admission during business hours. I have done this a couple of times for photographing the old buildings to use as photo references for my paintings.

Hi Marcey, the Kern County Museum is closed every Monday as we are open Tuesday through Sunday. We are quite sure that CALM is open every day. You’ll have to ask them if they are open on those specific dates. Thanks so much!
