I contacted David so that I could make the best decision regarding my case and the potential impact in my future. He did a great job in court. You know he’s doing everything possible to fight for you which is something most lawyers don’t get right. Following their hard work, my case was dismissed! They were so knowledgeable, nice and so professional, I had to give him a 5-star review! A trusted friend and colleague who is very experienced and well-respected in Court. Don’t hesitate to use the Law Offices of David Chesley if you are in need of legal services!!!

Very happy with the excellent job these lawyers at the Law Offices of David Chesley did for me in Bakersfield court. When David took the responsibility of handling my case, I couldn't believe the results. I was very grateful I was to have David take me step by step through the process and to successfully dismiss my DUI. They really treated me like a human being rather than a number and were very compassionate in the way they spoke and spent time with me and my family. We are very grateful for the outcome he achieved, following my arrest. With that being said, I would not hesitate to recommend the Chesley law firm to anyone! You handled my case very well and fast. Thank you to you and your lawyers for everything.

There isn't enough thanks or gratitude in the world that I could extend to both David and Tania. Very patient and informative when it comes to answering questions. No prison time on my felony case. Instead, it was dropped to a misdemeanor with probation only. I believe they showed a great deal of intelligence, skill, experience, and compassion in representing me in Court. They truly know their way around the criminal justice system. Thank you, Mr. Chesley, for keeping me from going to prison, keeping me updated and working so hard on my case. We felt very informed about our case. Mr. Chesley is professional and personable. One last thing, David and his firm are respected, efficient, and proactive. If you are ever charged with a DUI, I am confident he will be able to protect your license. They do the work and get you the results you need! I feel so thankful and blessed by God to have him as my attorney.

Questions & Answers

Do you handle juvenille cases?

Yes we do. It is one of our specialities. These cases take a long time because there are many progress reports over a long period of time. Many hearings and proofs of completions are required. Judges are constantly checking up on the client’s performance. No juries on these types of cases they are resolved via bench trial and you are assigned a probation officer/counselor to oversee your case. We have handled many of these cases.

What are the current guidelines about driving while stoned in California now that pot is not illegal?

Even though marijuana is now considered legal in the state of California, drivers are prohibited from driving under the influence of marijuana. Marijuana is considered to impair your ability to effectively operate a motor vehicle and if you are found to be driving while high you will definitely be cited for a DUI. We are good at getting these types of charges reduced or dismissed, but you should avoid driving while under the influence of marijuana for your own safety, and the safety of others, in addition to the need for avoiding any legal consequences.
