This location always has time to see my pet at last minute notice all the nurses are nice the doctor especially is caring and listens to what is wrong or what's going on I will never go anywhere else but this place... Fast forward a few years to today the staff was very caring and they squeeze me in to take care of my Olyvia and the new director was kind and all the staff was compassionate for me and my animals....Highly recommend you go here, I have for years now!! Unfortunatly I will no longer be bringing my dogs to this facility. As a 12 year doggie patient I can say this vet used to be the best, great vets, very caring, and professional. Now they are apparently so short staffed that they cannot be any of those things or see my dog that has giardia for a month. They will not prescribe any medications without seeing her so... The receptionists advice to me was to take my sick dog to some other vet. Okay I will, and I will not be returning. Thanks for caring about your patients.

Thank you sooo much!!! You guys helped take my puppy in when someone else at the last minute left my family hanging. I was in Hawaii for a family commitment and my husband has to leave to New York for a different commitment but you guys allowed me to get paper work in from afar and then approved the stay. I picked up my dog this morning and she was so happy to be with your technician. It shows your team was soooo helpful to me and kind to my puppy. Thank you!!

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with VCA Sunset. I have 2 cats and 1 dog who have all been treated here with the utmost care. The kitties aren't frequent fliers; they're pretty healthy, thankfully, and I adopted them after their spay & neuter so it's really just annual visits and vaccines. My pup, however, came home with giardia, eventually needed his neuter, and has had some ongoing GI issues. I signed him up for the VCA CareClub and it has already paid for itself -- unlimited office visits, 24/7 live chat with vet techs, all vaccines covered, and spay/neuter. My little guy gets greeted like a family member by the front desk staff, and every time I call, my issue is seen through to resolution. I feel like a valued client, and I know my animals are in competent, caring hands. Dr. Showler is my go-to, but Dr. Griffiths is great as well, as are all of the support staff. I see some of these negative reviews and it bums me out because I know how hard the staff works here. Their phone rings off the hook constantly, they have an explosion in new patients (pandemic puppies!), and they're doing their best to offer the same great care to everyone, with more limited resources. Nothing about the integrity of level of care has changed at this clinic; we're just in different, mid-to-post COVID times where everyone is stretched thin. Parting thoughts: be kind to your vet staff, and buy pet insurance before pre-existing conditions arise! Everyone will be happier and healthier for it.
