Don't go with this outfit! They told me they could build an addition on my home for 40k. After hiring them for phase 2 their build quote turned out to be over 65k! Seriously don't go with this outfit! Not only did they grossly under quote me, they are now threatening legal action against me for leaving a google post.....

Very unprofessional company.

Very helpful and professional advice. I have not used them for the "work" yet. Still planning. Sent a very helpful book. I will be speaking with them at a later date for a complete service.

After my one-star review, I have decided to update based on my recent experience with Anthony. I am highly impressed as a fellow business owner SDB's resilience and professional manner, showing they have what it takes to survive even a "Californiapocslypse". Will definitely be recommending them!

Hello James, and thank you for asking. That is a really great question! Right now in the Treasure Valley the average cost for new construction is about $220 a square foot. However, this does not account for having to tear anything apart first. So a good rule of thumb would be to take the square footage you would like to add or remodel and multiply it by $250. This will give you a great idea of where your costs might start. This number can be affected by a multitude of variables of which are dependent upon your features, materials, and design choices. It sounds like you are in the very early stages of thinking about this project James?

Hey Brian! Thx for asking such an excellent question! The simple answer is that for most construction projects you should have blueprints drawn up before speaking with a contractor. The reason for this so that when you do talk to contractors they will have accurate data to base pricing on. At sunshine Design & Build we offer a turnkey experience that includes blueprints and construction so that you do not have to be the middleman between your architect and contractor. This allows us to credit your design fees toward construction. As well, it gives you direct access to the planning process and makes the build up to 50% more efficient because your contractor has first hand involvement from start to finish. We hope this answered more questions than it created for you. If you would like to discuss your project further please call 208-509-6556 or 541-500-2330 and one of our project managers would be happy to help you make the right decision moving forward.

The costs of building a home addition can vary depending on multiple factors but a realistic expectation would be somewhere in the $80-120k plus range. This would include the blueprints, engineering, and permits. The major deciding factor in this equation would be considering the choices made in your master bathroom suite. If you have more questions please give our office a call and one of our remodel experts would be happy to guide you through a comprehensive design and build experience created to help you move from the guesswork of estimations, towards the accuracy of a detailed construction bid that accounts for all the variables involved.
