After going to the absolute worst gay bar I’ve ever been to, I thought I would come rate one of my favorites. If ever in Boise steer clear of The Balcony. Their staff is worse than Faces. Whenever I’m in town, this is where you will find me. Good party club vibe. Multi floor fun. I go to drink and dance. Never a problem with staff, management or patrons. Only complaint I’ve ever had is it’s a bit crowded and maybe a lower body count higher door would make it just right. Note photos from a few year back at Pride.

Badlands is where you go when you want to get your dance on with your friends or by yourself. The place is a cash-only business so make sure you bring plenty of bills unless you do not mind the ATM & the WD fee they charge. Drinks are reasonably priced & the dancers really deserve it all. There is an outdoor patio on the first floor and upstairs to give you space to smoke or get some fresh air. I believe the entrance fee is $7. If possible, avoid the jell-o shots at all costs. They charge 3 for $5 but those things really mess you up.

Happy Pride and welcome to Badlands the gay club that apparently the manager is trying to turn into a straight hip hop club, because that’s the only music that was played while we were there. I had taken my best friend out to dance for his birthday and it was not advertised on their website as a straight hip hop night or I wouldn’t have driven an hour there and home. When I asked the staff if this was a hip hop night, I was told no and that the DJ must be new because it’s not supposed to be played there ever. She said she would talk to the manager. Well apparently that fell on deaf ears because if that style of music isn’t supposed to be played the manager must be deaf considering it was being played at a level that was clearly damaging the speaker system and close to making the patrons ears bleed. I’ve been out of the club for almost two hours and my ears still hurt not just ringing but hurting. So clearly because they aren’t supposed to be playing that style and even after complaining it never changed. The person working the door was awesome. She understood that it had ruined our evening, she apologized even though she wasn’t the cause nor could she fix it but she did refund our cover charge. Thank you for that. Unfortunately she is not able refund our spoiled evening or wasted time and gas. You need better management if you actually are catering to the gay community, otherwise your just another hip hop club over run by straight people. Who already have their own clubs.

I'm very short and I was trying to get through the crowd I accidentally bumped through some people but I supposedly the manager that is in charge of that place kicked me out. To me that is stereotyping and very rude. I have gotten stepped on multiple times and bumped into but no one doesn't do anything when it happens to me that's bunch of Bs. Other than that it has great music

Be yourself and love you have fun!!!
21 for sure.
There is no shoe policy, but I agree. It's dangerous with dancing. Haha
Its a place for everyone :) It is a gay bar in the gay district.
Nope. They won't allow it. Also need proof of vaccination.
Sorry no they don't usually have that kind of thing. But you can make VIP arrangements ahead of time if you contact them 😀
Yes you do. Valid government issued identification with picture, birth date etc.
Can you provide a little more details please?
No, it is 21+ with valid ID. They do not have any 18+ nights
Typically anywhere between $5-$10, but if you get in before 9:30-10 it's free, unless there's an event (drag or otherwise) happening, then you can expect to pay $10-$15.
I think it depends on the event of the evening. My wife and I went this pass Saturday and it was $10/person.

Nope sorry 21 Or older. Check out the Sac. LGBT Community Center for resources. They have a drag queen breakfast that is teen friendly in a QProm. Let me know if you need more info. I am very involved in the LGBTQ plus community.
Mostly Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna, Britney types of songs/music. Hope this helps.
