Beautiful views, however be aware the road towards the top is challenging (narrow, twisty, hard to see if there's traffic coming at you). The good thing is for the most part people were courteous and went slow. I actually prefer Mount Evans to Pikes Peak. The view was well worth the drive (as a passenger), although you couldn't pay me enough to drive up this road myself.

Vehicle traffic is well managed at the gate, views are stunning, hiking trails are available, plenty of big horned sheep to see... I love Mount Evans. I've ridden up this peak from Idaho Springs on my bike twice. Its an awesome experience.

Absolutely Gorgeous and Challenging! The summit has mountain goats, weather changes and rest area. Enjoy!

14130 feet above sea level! Fabulous view of landscapes from the top. 'The Castle in the sky', view of Summit Lake. One can have full enjoyment of Mt Evans scenic drive.

Yes
It opened on 7th june. Better check status on official website before driving: http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/arp/mountevans
The access to Mt. Evans for cars is close right know. The closest is to park on Echolake. Only pedestrians and cyclist has access.
I believe so, Mt. Evan's has a visitor center that is available by phone also. I would call them for exact locations.
I walked down on foot from the summit, after ascending from the western gulch via Bierstadt trailhead. It was 16 miles.
In 2020 it is closed for cars. Only open for bikes and walkers.
Whats the difference? Its beautiful anyways 😉
It was still closed to vehicles (other than bikes) when I was there on Sept 26, 2020. I believe it will remain closed to vehicles for the rest of 2020.
Road is closed at Echo lake for motorized vehicles.
There is a campgroung ,restaurant and foodtruck with tables at the entrance of the park ,15 miles to the top
There is also a trail from echo lake to the summit. If you're hiking I suggest the trail. You can drive the road another time.
Will be closed to cars for the year Check the app the hiking project. Gives great detail of trails (distances, elevation changes, photos) including current conditions for many trails. It's a difficult hike in some portions.
It's closed to cars for the summer, but it is open to bikes and hikers!
No it is closed for car for the entire 2020
No, but you can park at Echo lake lodge and hike/bike up the road (14 miles each way), or take the trail at Echo Lake to the summit (11 miles each way)
Sorry, it's closed since Labour Day
Road is closed for the season
They Don't advise it
Yes it closed for the season from Summit Lake to the top. Closed September 3rd.
Summit lake.
We didn't see any last week on the top but the sheep were at the bottom by the highway, Lol. In the emergency lane at that.
Yes, it is $15 or free with an interagency park pass
Very easy by car. Make sure passenger seat person should not cry and shout you all the way to up. So stay focus on driving
We went a couple of weeks ago and it was 42F with a windchill of 36 even though it was in the mid 80's in Denver
Allow approximantly 45 minutes to an hour. It is a slow go on a winding road.
Probably not, it also depends on the time you want to go.
Early morning to avoid the crowds
Guessing about one hour.
If its prior to 8am or after 6 pm you don't have to have a reservation.
