S big shout out to Chuck Terra for helping me with a recent request for help. We bought our appliances from Monark in 2017 and had to re-install them after the Glass Fire in Napa. We ran into an issue with the local appliance company that wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount and I called Monark for assistance. We worked with Andy about 14 years ago when we were remodeling our kitchen and were so happy with the experience we had, we used him again when we purchased another ice machine. First of all, not having salt in the unit would not affect the unit from working. It should still power on and run. Secondly, yes to refill the salt he just needs to unscrew the salt cap and refill and replace salt cap. If the unit is not powering on, he has something else going on in which case a service call to Miele is warranted. Miele concierge is 800-666-8054
