To go 2.9 miles.... he wanted to charge me $27.95 which he said was a flat rate.. when I said no he offered to do it for 20...some things just don't add up... uber said they would do it for 11.50

Called for a taxi to the Airport. Such prompt service. Sent us specific details on driver and car. Our driver A was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this service.

Dispatch was helpful, but the driver was 20 minutes late. Even worse, the driver was incredibly rude and impatient and extorted my mom for an extra $15 "wait fee" even though I'd already paid online. Dispatch knew we hired this cab for a drive through test service and the wait was expected. Very disappointed

Hi Tonka Tsanova, The "Flag Drop" is not a tip. It is the beginning "base rate" in which a taxi starts. A few years ago (9/2015), San Jose City Council voted and dertermined this rate. This is because of various factors immediately affecting the local taxi industry such as gas prices, maintenance, competition from other ride-sharing companies (ie. Uber, Lyft), etc, just to name a few. So each time you enter a taxi expect to pay their "drop flag fee" plus whatever the additional mileage will be until you reach your destination. I hope this gives you some future planning insight and perspective.
