They definitely cane in the store!
The Caning Shop in Berkeley does all sorts of reweaving of chairs. Ask about their classes too. They teach their methods to customers who want to learn to do it themselves.
They have what you need to fix it, along with kind instruction. If they do not specifically have plastic, they will be able to direct you.
