The customer service I received today was mind boggling. I don’t usually get rude service when I come here but for some reason I had the worst luck today trying to get a new drivers license due to name change. If you’re management there, listen, we as customers aren’t going there for funsies… we are obligated to go there for things we need legally. The least you can do is have some decent service.

My favorite local DMV! They move fast and the associates are friendly, especially Laura. I also appreciate that they have a mirror next to the camera station to help avoid the typical unflattering driver’s license photo.

Very slow. Employees take many breaks and they have only 3 windows of 5 open most of the time. Must sign in with Smart phone or walk to kiosk. Kiosk doesn’t give you a call back number though. Employee not as helpful to seniors as they could be. Documents needed should be displayed on the window outside so people can make sure they have what they need before waiting 1-2 hours. I watched 3 people walk away because they didn’t have the right documents. Not everyone has access to a computer or smartphone and the world seems to forget that.

I went on a Monday morning and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. It’s extremely annoying to have to wait in your car and do everything on your phone. There are no chairs inside to sit and wait. I’m sure older generations are confused and frustrated by this. It should still be more accessible for people who aren’t as familiar with technology. It’s also extremely difficult to hear through a sheet of plastic and a mask. I’ll try a different location next time.

You can renew an Ohio Drivers License 90 Days Before the expiration date
add an answer now..Thank you
If your license expired on 2/3/18, you have 6 months, (180 days) to renew your license before they will make you take the driver's license examination again. So right now you are ok, but I wouldn't wait until the beginning of August to try to get it done. I would go get it taken care of ASAP!!!
There are two types of licenses now, standard and compliant. They both require different documents, the compliant needing more than the standard. If you go to bmv.ohio.gov there is an explanation about both of them and their purposes as well as an interactive list that you can checkmark your way through to know what you need to bring in order to get the compliant license. Please make sure you read each thing carefully as certain restrictions can apply on documents we can take for the compliant license.
You can renew your vehicle registration sticker 90 days before the expiration date.
No, but there is a title office in Lewis Center next to T-Mobile and Dollar Tree. You can go to any title office in the state of Ohio, it is not county specific.
You can get a replacement license at this location. To see what you need to bring with you call 614-752-7500 or go to the Website BMV.ohio.gov.
You can preregister online and get a number before you leave the house, this should minimize how much time you have to wait !
not at this location
bmv.ohio.gov > get inline online > reason for going > follow prompts
Yes you should be able to. When you get there you have to text them what you need done.
Not sure, I'd imagine so. Yes
For the new Federal Compliant DL you need birth certificate, social security card and proof of address like a utility bill. New requirements are stringent, I suggest the Ohio BMV website for details.
Actually if you go to Ohio BMV you can get registration renewal stickers online. I did that knowing that with COVID guidelines it's be hard to go in. It will take a few weeks to get them by mail but with the extension for tag renewal you should be fine if you do it around the time they expire.
You can look on the BMV's website to see what you need if you are getting the driver's license you need to fly or anything else
Ohiobmv.gov they have it advertised. They're encouraging everyone to do it... Google it if you have to.
My license expired oct 2020. Due to covid can I renew now? What will I need & where do I go?
If you are renewing your license, yes. If you are testing to get your license, no, the testing stations are not open on Mondays.
There are two different types of ID’s for the state of Ohio now, compliant and standard. If you need information on the different types you can go to bmv.ohio.gov and find that information there, as well as an interactive checklist on what you need to bring to obtain either. A state ID costs $8.50

Yes, Ohio is still a two plate state at this point. If you got plates for a car, there should have been two plates in the bag, the plate with the expiration sticker goes on the back of the car. Sometimes the plates stick together in the packages.
Our fax number is 614-802-0378. If you fax something here that you need to get sent to the Reinstatement office, you need to come in and pay the $10 processing fee for us to fax it to them. We are not the Reinstatement office, so if you fax us documents, we are not the ones that enter them into the system or clear you.
Yes. You need to have a valid temporary learners permit to take the driving test. However, you need to retake the temporary permit exam to renew a temporary learners permit. We do not do the exams at this location. You can go to bmv.ohio.gov for a list of exam stations.
Unfortunately, most days we are pretty busy since the new licenses were implemented. We find that Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday seem to be a little less busy and usually between the hours of 8-11, before lunches start for everyone.
Yes, you can get State ID’s at this location. You will walk out with an interim document to use as your ID is being mailed to you.
If you mean transferring from a car you sold to a new car you own, no. You have to go into an agency with the Ohio titile to the new car that has your name on the front and your Ohio drivers license to complete the transfer.
No. You do not get a late fee until 30 days after the sticker expires.
If it’s been expired over a year and is a car or truck you need the Ohio title or old registration because you will have to purchase new plates. If it has not been expired for more than a year and is a car or truck the owner just needs to come in with their Ohio drivers license
Yes, you are able to purchase permanent plates here
There are two different types of licenses now, compliant and standard. They each require different documentation and have different uses. You can go to bmv.ohio.gov to get a full description of each type of license and exactly the documents that you will need to present when you go to an agency.
There are many factors involved in figuring out prices for vehicle registration. If it is a regular car with a regular stock plate in Delaware or Franklin county and the plate has been expired less than 30 days, he cost is about $54.50 and for motorcycles it is between $30 and $40 regularly. You can call the main BMV at 614-752-7500 and see if they can give you exact prices. We accept cash, check, debit and credit. There is a charge of $1.95 for debut and 1.95% for credit.
Well, Ohio has started issuing new licenses as of July 2. It is in compliance with the federal government, meaning the new license has a Star on it and you can get into federal buildings and on domestic flights with just the license, but it requires more documentation. If you get the standard license, you would also need a US Passport to fly domestically, but to renew you just need your Ohio license. You can go to bmv.ohio.gov to look at the list of required documents for a compliant license as well as the differences between the two. Just be sure to click all the way through the requirement list even if all of the boxes are check marked green to make sure you truly do have everything you need.
If it is an Ohio Drivers License, you have 180 days to renew it before you would have to take the written and driving tests. However, if you are driving on an expired license, you can get a ticket.
Yes they are. When you enter the building, they are on the right hand side of the entrance in the lower right hand corner.
Your friend can only buy temporary plates BEFORE he goes to the title office. Once the title is transferred into his name, he can only buy regular plates.
Yes
The title place is located further down RT 23 by Walmart
