Employees working here think that it gives them an excuse to treat the human beings residing here like they are less than human. Then the top people running the place think it's perfectly fine to let their employees behave and treat the incarcerated in such a low manner. #Reform

My husband is currently incarcerated there and I haven't heard a lot I wouldn't expect based on my own experience. I am however a little taken aback that he doesn't have access to books.

It's a place that's depressing. I know society has the need for the existence of such places, but still it's designed & run as a privatized business. Businesses don't exist to lose money, or to break even, they're in business for profit. It's a rather sad place mankind is at. But what can be done ? There will always be a need.

Go to the entrance on Kansas Ave. (Not the front facing highway)about 2 blocks off highway 7, just past the old wall. The max and medium guys visit there. They can direct you to minimum.
They can have up to 50 photos. Use the online apps to send photos. Pelipost and FreePrints are apps to send photos to inmates directly from your phone. I send my son 20 at once.
No. They only put fans in the visiting room as well. My husband shares a cell with 4 others. He said they gave them a tiny fan.
No. You take in a debit or credit card. No cash or change allowed.
In the morning usually around 9:00.
I would call the warden. My son just got out of the hospital. He was there a week and almost died. They didn’t tell me he was sick. Now he may have to go back. He might also be in the hole. If he’s there sometimes they can’t call.
Currently, there's not much. Donnelly College offers some college courses, but the welding program was moved to Norton. There are some jobs, with OJT, but those are few and far between. There is also a GED program.
Your son in law needs to mail you a visitors application. Fill it out completely. Applications that are denied are often denied for incomplete information. Add extra pages, if need be. It can take a few weeks for this process. Have him mail it ASAP.
That would depend on the number of visitors at any given time. Generally, inmates are allowed up to 20 people on their visiting list. If there are a high number of visitors on a certain day, it could limit the number of visitors and or visiting time per inmate. Hope this helps but feel free to visit our website at https://www.doc.ks.gov/facilities/lcf
Yes if they are approved on his visitation paperwork
Yes, there is a lot family and friends can do to help. Get as many influential people as you can to contact the PRB recommending parole. Contact any potential objectors and try to convience them to not object. May need attorney to contact them as to not appear threathening. The inmate needs to complete every program that could be remotely related to offense, and many self help programs. Expect to be denied parole at least the 1st time, and very likely after that.

He should know everyone has one he has to put you on. Then you'll get a form to fill out in The mail and send back it's takes a couple of weeks
Depending on if their behind the walls or on the hill minimum is Saturday and Sunday 730a-130p and you must have been approved you just can't show up
Download the Access corrections app
First of all I would never make my Imperial German Shepherd pull me that far. Nor would I even consider making the trip in this heat. It would definitely be evening or dawn. I'm 5ft 120lbs in pretty good shape for a 50 yr old mother of 3. I still skate w/ my doggie who's 4 yrs old & weighs 85+lbs. Obviously it was a joke. Some friends & I were trying to find out how far away it is so I Google Mapped it. So they started teasing me bout Zues & the skateboard. Yes my dog's name is Zues. He's a HOSS. I'm thinking about 16hr. It says 2 day walk. However I would never put him n harm's way. I have to protect him as he protects me. Got an answer for me not😊

Call the prison and ask for records or communications
Search for the Kansas Kasper website and search for him there.
At the Max Reception entrance, which is also the same place as Max Visiting Entrance. It's on the south side of the facility, next to the sky blue sign.
Talk with Laura Phillipi. She's the facility historian. Very knowledgeable about the history.
What you can find out in on kasper. Visiting hours are listed on the website
