Are you open year around? What are your ticket prices and would your presentations be suitable for retired individuals?

Ellen Szudajski | Oct 15, 2021
The Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium | Oct 15, 2021

Hi Ellen! We are open year-round. Our weekly schedule differs between the seasons: During the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day we are open 7 days a week, and after Labor Day through the school year we are open Tuesday through Sunday, plus a few Mondays during busy holiday weeks. Ticket prices are $8 general admission for all guests 3 and older, or $4 for Union Station Members. We offer a variety of shows covering many different topics and suitable for many different age groups. For adult groups, our live star tour "Sky Station LIVE" is our most popular traditional astronomy program, and we offer documentary features as well, such as "Capcom Go," which is a history of the Apollo program. Let me know if you have any other questions! Patrick Hess Planetarium Manager

What is the length of the Magic Tree House Show? I have 3yo grandchildren and this will be their first planetarium experience. I want to be certain they can sit still the entire time.

Hi Teresa. Magic Tree House: Space Mission is about 30 minutes long. We also offer Big Bird's Adventure, which is less than 25 minutes. Hope that helps! Patrick Hess Planetarium Specialist

Hi Shon. The International Astronomical Union does not formally recognize any commercial star naming service, so while there are many services that offer a way to purchase or name a star or astronomical object, the name will only be reflected in that particular service's registry, and will not be able to be found in any other database.
