Hard to top this historical venue that looks like you just jumped into a scene from the Great Gatsby. Awesome revamp and modernization of the building, that maintains all of the classic artistry and charm. Sound dynamics in the house for the Elisha concert were phenomenal. Bravo, bravo!
Rosewood Virginia
We went to the academy centre of the arts to see Christmas in Killarney, what a fabulous show. The academy is easy to get to with parking opposite. The foyer serves snacks (chips, chocolate bars and nuts etc), has a fully licensed bar with good selections. Inside the architecture is magnificent, I was sitting in row J to the left and it seemed to be a great place to sit with great views of the stage. Would thoroughly recommend going here.

Have seen many shows here and enjoy the atmosphere, service, and variety of performers/options. They have done such a good job of getting new entertainers- from musicians, poets, plays, and children’s events, we always have a great time. The perfect place for a date night or just a great night out in Lynchburg!

The cheaper of your options is directly across from the Academy and is the Holiday Inn. It's comfortable, has a restaurant and bar, sometimes hosts jazz, and is appointed nicely. Your other two options are the Virginian- an upscale boutique a few blocks away, and a no tell motel about 13 blocks away. There are also multiple well appointed and reasonable airbnbs in the downtown district and a few Bed and Breakfasts in the historic neighbourhoods surrounding downtown.
