Thank you for your interest in adopting. Kitten adoption fee is $150 which includes vaccination, sterilization and microchip. Many of the kittens are here, but the smaller ones are in foster care. Hours are T-W-Th noon - 6 PM, Fri 1-7 PM, Sat 1-5 PM.

No. Each local humane society is independent, not connected. You should contact the organization you adopted from for guidance on where to relinquish.

That would be completely up to the adopter. We can provide them a former owner's contact information. It would be their choice whether to be in contact. Many adopters are reluctant to do that for fear that a former owner might try to reclaim the pet. We are currently far too full to accept any owner surrenders. We only accept pets from our contracted cities (Basehor, Lansing, Linwood) and from areas outside city limits in Leavenworth County.

There is a free spay/neuter program for any Leavenworth County dog / cat through Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society. You can request the coupon by calling 913-651-5297.

There are multiple reduced fee opportunities in the area. Tractor Supply in Lansing has a mobile vet every Sunday from 4-5:30 PM. Email for the longer list.

We are too full to take owner surrendered pets at present. Your servicing shelter depends on where you live in Leavenworth County.
