The classes are great for kids.

Granddaughters attended Kids Clay Camp last week. They had a blast and produced a lot of colorful ceramic projects. Ms. April was their teacher and clearly had experience working with kids. Grandkids leave out of town but are already planning to come again next summer.

I signed up for the 4 week Saturday class and ended up walking out after an hour of the first class in sheer frustration. First of all, due to snow closures and the way their sale days fell, the June class STARTED the second Saturday rather than the first. Apparently 2 people showed up the first Saturday anyway so those of us who actually showed up to the first class as we were told to were targeted as NOT SHOWING UP TO THE FIRST CLASS. The instructor then repeatedly told us we had to move at LIGHTNING SPEED to catch up because we were way behind. There was absolutely no instruction, demonstration or even an example or explanation of what we were making, but we had to move at lightning speed to do it. There weren't enough materials for the class. There was 1 PATTERN and 2 RULERS for 5 students so we were waiting on everything and then barked at for being too slow. There also weren't enough boards to put the slabs on. Heaven forbid we didn't do everything EXACTLY as the instructor wanted us to as if we could read his mind and had been doing this for 40 years. I genuinely thought he was going to go off. I finally just walked out. I took this class (that's open to BEGINNERS) to LEARN a fun, creative and relaxing hobby, not to be barked at by an angry old man who can't teach, has ZERO patience and clearly didn't want to be there.

Welcoming, friendly people. Great for any skill level.

What is an abundance? Call the guild they might take them. I would but this is a comment page and I don't want my info out there for anyone.

You can buy it at KC clay guild. They have some inexpensive recycled clay that works well. Also Crane Yard Clay has a good variety.
I took a 4 week class, this past April. We had fun and I'll earn some techniques but you need more than four session to really get the know how of the wheel. One thing that was disappointing was that we glazed our one of our completed bowls but when we went to pick them up we could not find them. I went back at least five times to find them and they weren't there. One of the volunteers stated that people take other people completed projects. They are not real concern about trying to control who and what takes things from the completed projects. I wasn't happy I wanted to see how my cup turned out.
