The apartment I lived in with a nice river view was good quality which is the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of one. However, the management was absolutely awful. They were extremely unresponsive to both e-mails (almost never answering) and phone calls (automated service gives you the run around until you realize you can only leave a voicemail instead of talking to someone directly, and they never responded to voicemails that I left). And on top of that the few times I went to the leasing office when I couldn't reach them in any other way, Nicole (works in the front office) would be very rude and unjustifiably condescending about everything making snide comments to make you feel bad about bothering to request that she do her job/answer questions from current Docks residents. For instance when the Smart Lock system first was implemented she made me feel very bad for locking myself out of my apartment once as if this never happens. I felt this to be very unprofessional and in poor taste, especially when it was a brand new system at the time and we had not really received ample e-mails/notifications or instructions on the transition and the whole roll out was a disaster. And then when moving out of the Docks she never responded to several e-mails and calls that I sent to try to get a basic checklist/instructions to make sure I wasn't missing anything before moving out. I ultimately got a response from Ethyn, another person working in the leasing office who gave me a few things I needed to complete including turning in my keys. However, when I turned in my keys as instructed Nicole was unapologetic about not responding (whom I had initially tried to contact directly) and talked to me like everything that needed to be done should be obvious. And in fact she even went further and tried to make me feel bad about turning in my keys (explaining that they just throw them away since they have a smart security system now) even though this was what I was explicitly instructed to do. And now it's been exactly a month since I moved out and despite multiple e-mails and follow-ups I have not received any response regarding the specifics on when or where I will receive my security deposit. This review is lengthy and I don't typically write reviews, but given how awful the service/management has been I felt the need to warn potential future residents of this major defect in the overall residential experience at the Docks. Not one to complain, but I have a lot of complaints with this apartment complex. Been here 13 months and the maintenance issues have been unbearable (dishwasher, garbage disposal, floor panels, closet door - 3 times, still hasn’t been replaced, ice maker, you name it). Overpriced faux luxury.Hello Bobby, please contact the leasing office as we would like to gather more details and discuss this further with you. Thank You, The Docks

They did not clean up after fixing the bathroom sink. They left 3 drain blockers on the sink and some white dirt on the mat.Molly, Thank you for the feedback. We will address this complaint with the maintenance staff immediately. The Docks

This has been a great place to live with attentive leasing agents and maintenance staff as well as close proximity to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and the highway. The amenities are rather nice as well. Smoke permeating from other apartments is a problem here though. This past summer and fall a neighbor would smoke outdoors and we would have to close our windows so as not to have our apartment begin to smell like smoke. This was a minor annoyance as we like to have our windows open but it was definitely a solvable issue. Once the weather got cold and our neighbor began smoking indoors, our laundry closet soon began to smell like cigarette smoke. Then our entire bathroom, kitchen cabinets, and living room began to smell like cigarette smoke. This was confusing because our lease explicitly forbids smoking indoors in any building in the community. So we reached out to the leasing office about this and it was very difficult to get a straight answer. Finally they said our lease was incorrect about the no smoking indoors and there's nothing they can do… however this had been on our lease since we moved in...3 years ago. We tried to set up a meeting with the property manager to ask if we had any options such as to move to a different unit in the complex, but the leasing office stopped responding to our requests to meet. So we bought air filters to try to mitigate the smell. Without them our whole apartment smells of smoke. So all in all this place is great if you don't mind the possibility of smoke in your apartment or a management company who will say that items in your lease are there by accident and don't apply, even though you've both signed the document. We haven't had any other problems here and we really like it here but this is hard to overlook.
