Perfectly serviceable! Nice and quiet. It's probably worth the upgrade to the cadillac margarita, as the basic one was underwhelming.

We read good things about this place from the google reviews and decided to give it a shot. There wasn't another group in the restaurant when we arrived, but we figured maybe it was just an off night for them. The waiter was friendly and recommended I try the arroz con pollo. I ordered that and a margarita while my wife got the birria plate. Genuinely the worst food I've had in Seattle. My arroz con pollo was salted well beyond what I'd use in a pultry brine or pasta water! The chicken was rubbery while the rice was absolute mush. The mushrooms (why were there even mushrooms in this?) were woody and had a very unpleasant odor to them. The sauce that flooded the dish had pools of fat on it, which isn't something I've ever noticed in an arroz con pollo dish. Sometimes there might be a slight sheen to the sauce from a little excessive cooking oil, but this had literal pools of oil that you'd expect from a very fatty stew that hadn't been skimmed. To make it even worse, it was served room temperature warm. Ate all of 3 bites before I had to stop because it was genuinely bad to the point of being inedible. The margarita wasn't nearly as bad, but definitely not great either. It tasted like the citrus juice wasn't very fresh, but that's forgivable. My wife's birria plate wasn't as bad as mine, but still very disappointing. The beans just didn't taste good and her rice was also very mushy. How can you have a Mexican restaurant that can't cook fresh rice and beans?!? The birria itself tasted like dry beef covered with a slightly warm sauce. If it wasn't a Mexican restaurant, I wouldn't have known it was a birria. While I love hole in the wall restaurants, this place just didn't do it for us. There are so many good Mexican food trucks in the area that have substantially better and more authentic food Update: per the owners response I removed the canned bean and pre cooked comments. They're right... I don't know how they were cooked, we just didn't like it. I also added a star because you could tell they really care for the place and the service was good.

I had been there before that time was great, but 2nd try and the margaritas weren’t as good in this time were rims with sugar instead of salt. And we got food poisoning from them. Bf and I ate basically the same thing except I didn’t eat …

So glad we took a chance on this place! The food was delicious! I had the enchiladas rojas with shredded beef and my husband had the mojado burrito with carne asada. I loved the red sauce on the enchiladas. It was like a creamy red sauce and had a very unique yummy flavor. Portions were good sized, it all seemed fresh. Only compliant was the $7 price per bottle of Modelo. But we will definitely be back!
