I'm sure they do awesome with their cause, and the resources they have. Unfortunately the two times I have gone there they didn't have staff to even assess the situation. If your looking for a biscuit it might be on a list visit.

This place is great, and have been there for me when I was new to Lincoln and needed help and had no idea where to go, and again when I needed resources prior to a move. They serve a daily lunch and dinner as well free for anyone who needs a good meal. Thank you staff! You guys are awesome

We don't have a specific program or funding for assistance with rent. But our Homeless Diversion Program may be of help to you. Visit our website to learn more and to find contact information for outreach staff who may be able to provide more information for you. https://www.mtko.org/you_can_help/homeless-diversion.html
We will provide Thanksgiving baskets as supplies allow. If you are interested in receiving one, please give us a call at 402-477-4116 and ask about availability. Thanks.
Thanks for your interest! Please see our website for details on how you can help. https://www.mtko.org/volunteer/volunteer/volunteeroverview.html
Based on national and local recommendations, we will make several modifications to our operations starting Monday, 3/23/20. Boxed “to-go” meals will be provided from 11 am – 1 pm and 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm, Monday – Friday. On Saturday and Sunday boxed "to-go" meals will be available from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Congregate meals will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
Yes they have many safety measures and numerous precautions that they take ... Such as security cameras and sometimes guards.
Hi Hazel, We do not help with plane tickets. And we generally do not help with bus tickets either. Anyone is welcome to come in during our outreach times (Monday - Friday 11 am - 1 pm and 5 pm - 6:30 pm) and speak with a member of our staff to see if we can help or if we can direct you to other resources in the community.
Matt Talbot assists individuals with obtaining vital identification documents such as a State ID. Because of limited resources, this is something that is offered only one time. To learn more, please come to our facility (2121 N. 27th Street) Monday - Friday during outreach times (11 am - 1 pm or 5 pm - 6:30 pm). You can also call to make an appointment.
We stay open as much as possible and do not follow Lincoln Public Schools closings. But last Saturday night during the blizzard we made the difficult decision to close for dinner due to extreme weather and safety concerns for volunteers, guests and staff. While they are very rare, we announce any closings on social media and through local TV and radio announcements.
Absolutely Matt Talbots will put those to good use for anyone who doesn't have protection from the cold weather
Yes. There are security cameras inside and outside the building.
I'm sorry we didn't see this in time! Yes, we were open for dinner tonight from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. I hope you were able to join us. We'll be open tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at 8:30 am.
Hi Cheryl - We do have an outreach service that helps with obtaining vital identification documents like birth certificates. Please come in during outreach hours (11 am - 1 pm or 5 pm - 6:30 pm) and sign up at the reception desk to talk with an outreach staff person. If those times don't work, you can also call (402-477-4116) to make an appointment.
Thanks for asking. Everyone is welcome to to walk through our open doors and get a hot meal two times a day, every day of the year. Lunch is served from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm and dinner is served from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Annually Matt Talbot provides more than 100,000 meals to Lincoln's working poor and homeless. Food pantries are also available for those who do not have enough food at home. We are open Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 6:30 pm (except for Thursdays when we close from 1 - 5 pm for street outreach and team meetings). Outreach staff is available in the dining room during meal times (or by appointment) to connect people to resources that take care of the whole person - providing beyond basic needs to embolden people to have hope. Our extensive outreach and advocacy programs assist individuals with basic needs.
