I was dreading the DMV, had to drive from Wake Forest to the Clinton, NC office to get an appointment the next day for a NC license moving from CT. But boy was it worth it. They were friendly, great and accommodating. I had all documents except proof of insurance(my bad) but they had a fax number for me to have the insurance company send it to right there. So instead of a failure, it was a great success. What they say about southern hospitality is true. Nice work NC DMV!

Edited: I just heard the DMV rep ask a young man was he registered to vote? The boy said yes. That's where the conversation should've ended...but then the DMV rep said...would you like to change your party? WTH? The DMV is suggesting that people change their party affiliation? DMV needs to go back to how we did it before this scam of a pandemic. It is absolutely ridiculous. DMV operated great before now and now they have us stand outside in 90+ degree weather and refuse to allow you to get out of that heat. Can't complain to anyone who matters so hopefully this will get to someone's desk.

Nice and I got CDLL

Unless you like to wait outside in the heat/weather, make an appointment if you can get one

I just went and took the test, then the sign test if you pass you get temporary copy then permit in the mail. No appointment needed
Less than 20
usually $10 in nc
Yes. Very short line around 2pm
Yes you can but anyone with an appointment will go first regardless of your position in line.
I think I paid 14 dollars and did it online
They take walk in from 8-10 and 1-5. I was just there and that's what the sign on the door said. I was a walk in. The only thing appointments will be seen first.
They will give you a permit to hold for 90 days and a driving log to track your hours driven. You have to drive a total of 60 hours. 10 of them being at night. After the 90 days if they still aren't doing driving tests, you can schedule your appointment, turn in your driving log and get your license, if they are doing driving tests, you will be expected to take the driving test to get your license.
No, that doesn't prove you currently have insurance.
In Clinton there are with an scheduled appointment
You have to call and make an appointment for whatever you need.

You’ll have to go to the website to make an appointment
One week
Mailed to u within 7-10 business days. U do get a temporary paper copy tho same day
Oh wow i dont know if they do in Nc i just moved here from jersey and jetsey does not. You would have to go there and inquire.
Most likely but it best to just go on a tuesday Wednesday or thursday monday and friday they be packed
Most likely the website most likely at the bottom of page. I really dont know but i knew eventually someone would complain i didnt understand why people taking the written test is out in the open and they have a empty room where the bathroom is that they could be to take the test with little to no distractions. You see i just moved here from Jersey I already had my license and in jersey they secluded the test takers.
