We went on Labor day Monday. Not crowed and we're seated by the busser who brought us water. The waiter took his time acknowledge us and when he did just casually asked of we knew what we wanted. Ok fine. Brought us our food. The chocolate milk shake & the root beer float were yummy. We ordered the Ruben Sandwich with coleslaw and All meat pizza. The Ruben sandwich was very tasty. However the $16.00 Pizza was horrible and taste rancid. The mushrooms were rubbery and gross. I had it removed from my bill. I feel like some of these old restaurants don't change their menu or their food and or never taste their own food.

If you're into Holadaise sauce, the 'Flames Eatery & Bar,' is the place to come. They add it to just about everything . . that's an exaturation of course, but it is rather the feeling you get. And, I have to admit, just contemplating it while I made and consumed a different order, made me ask myself afterwards, 'why didn't I order myself something with Holandaise sauce?' My brain must have taken me back to a time - now, long forgotten - suposedly . . when I had something of this nature, and, so now, my taste buds are rapping me on the side of the head, saying . . Hey! Holandaise sauce! . . have you forgotten? Well . . I have, but you can bet on one thing . . the next time I come back, to the Flames Eatery & Bar, I'm going to have one thing appearing on my plate . . yep . . you guessed it . . Hollandaise Sauce, and that's for damn sure! This restaurant - located on the corner of 4th & Santa Clara, you could almost say, is the gateway to San Jose State University. Because, it's just across the street. I think the restaurant is nicely laid out. It was very quiet the Thursday afternoon I arrived. Maybe because I think, the items on the menue, are a little bit too pricey for students . . maybe, unless of course, it's served with Hollandaise Sauce - kidding. The seats are a bit low when you sit in them - up periscope - but, afterwards, you can settleback in them and have visions of Hollandaise Sauce. The menue is pretty varied, with plenty of selections to choose from, whether it be omlets, appetizers, seafood . . Oh! and where can you find a nice place that just would serve a good old fashion hot fudge sunday. The Flames, Eatery & Bar, can be more specifically, located at, 88 south 4th street, in downtown San Jose, Calif. Have yourself a nice dinner - there's Greek, Italian, and, domestic choices. You'll get nice portions at this, what has been considered a rather, Las Vegas style appearance, and, oh! on your way out, you just might want to take home with you, a nice cake, that they have offering, in the display cabinet, Enjoy!

The food was ok but if they care this much about how "clean" they keep the floors imagine how clean the kitchen must be..Hmm!
