The staff is friendly and helpful and the room is clean. However when I booked this hotel they said they have 24 hour shuttle to JFK every half hour. I went to schedule a 5 am shuttle and they said that it would only go at four or six. When I asked about this they said they changed their policy. Now I have to get an Uber for 36 bucks. I wouldn't have booked this hotel if I knew that. So I have to say avoid this hotel.

We had no problems. I was quite concerned about staying here after reading reviews that suggested security might be an issue. We didn’t feel uncomfortable at any time. I can not comment on what may be the situation on floors 2-5 because I have no knowledge but nothing was troubling. Breakfast was fine and the shuttle back to JFK was excellent. It was a bit further than we expected but it was also significantly cheaper than other nearby hotels.

I visited La Quinta because I was traveling with my 50 lbs dog, and La Quinta has an all pets welcome policy, which I really appreciate. Other hotels in the area had a lower weight limit. The manager and night staff were great! The day staff was a bit grumpy and less helpful, though they did set me up with the ride to the airport in a hotel shuttle. The breakfast was not easy to eat. The surrounding area was difficult to judge. I came from Maine, which had a lot more clean cut landscapes. The was a lot of garbage in the neighborhood. I stayed in the hotel for the convenience for my dog, but if comfort is the reason for visit, this may not be the place.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights, and were a bit skeptical from previous reviews. However, I really enjoyed my stay. The bed and room were extremely comfortable, and at 7 months pregnant comfort is hard to come by. The bathroom was clean, and very nice as well. The breakfast was simple, but got the job done, and the staff was wonderful. They were all very sweet, and helpful. Being a New York native, the fact that the train was literally just around the corner was perfect! I would definitely stay again.

The last time I was there, last year, some people had their dog with them. Not sure whether it was tolerance or official policy.
